This card is for the ongoing Dare To Get Dirty challenges for Fan Club members, all this week at SCS (see yesterday's link for more information about joining the Fan Club). Today's card qualifies for two challenges - westies and cookie stamper. I made another square card and kept it CAS with lots of white space. Hope you like.
"Key to my Heart"
Stamps: none (sentiment is computer-generated)
Paper: White, gold, Generations DP (Simple Stories)
Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Key & Lock embossing dies (C.C. Designs), Nestabilities squares dies (Spellbinders), heart punch, piercing tool, piercing mat and templates, glue, and dimensionals
I ran the DP through the big shot with a medium-sized square die. I trimmed around the cut-out leaving a 1/4" border. I ran the same square die through with white card stock and cut two more frames. I glued them together - this creates a thick and "weighty" frame.
I punched the heart from the DP and two from white cardstock and glued them together (as I did for the frame). I placed the heart in the center of the background DP to get positioning, removed it and then paper pierced the outline of the heart using a piercing template from SU! I glued the backing to the frame.
I ran Whisper White cardstock through my printer to print the sentiment (Harrington font). I cut out the card front and mounted it to a heavier white cardstock card base (the heavier cardstock won't feed through my printer so I always use Whisper white).
I mounted the frame onto the card front, popping it up with dimensionals to add depth. I mounted the heart in the middle, also popping it up with dimensionals.
I cut out a gold key die and glued it to the frame. For the inside, I added another gold key with the inside of the handle cut from the same DP as the heart.
Here's a picture of the inside panel.

Very elegant card, Loll. I like how you coordinated the frame, heart and the inside of the key handle.

This is impressive stuff! Love the papers, the frame, the key, the sentiement - love it all. Thanks for sharing how you did this is such great detail - I am going to try the frame now - always wanted to but really didn't have time to sit and figure it out. Wonderful work here!!!

Gorgeous Loll! I'm with you... love this pad of paper! and their other ones too! lol
I see why you had to have that key and why you hoard that paper! Both are so elegant. I love the key on the inside with the scrap of paper behind it. It really stands out!
