Swirly Tree Christmas

I've been playing with watercolor paper and re-inkers again.  It took me a bit of time and lots of tries until I got the saturated colors I wanted for the card below.  And, with using red and green inks, it was important that they didn't blend together very much or I would have ended up with a brown background.  Luckily the inks cooperated and they sort of formed a ying yang shape which worked perfectly with my new Swirly Tree die from Memory Box.

This card is for this week's Paper Players Challenge (#111 - Leaves or Trees).  And I'm happy to add another Christmas card to my stash ... I now have about 1/2 dozen cards already made for this year and will need to make another 30+ over the next few months.  I do love making Christmas cards! :)

  1. This really looks great. The tree just pops off the page set against the pretty background.

  2. Fabulous background, Loll - it really does look like a yin/yang design. I love making Christmas cards too - more than any other type - and I make them for my Mum and two of my sisters too so need to do a lot. I play along with SCS's Christmas Card Challenge where you challenge yourself to a certain quota every month. I've done it for a few years and it really helps me get them done. Bonnie (bon2stamp) does the Merry Monday sketch challenge so she gets one Christmas card done each week. It's run by a Vancouver Island SU demonstrator on her blog "Always Playing with Paper" - so I might take part in it next year. I'm looking forward to seeing your Christmas cards throughout the autumn!

  7. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the green & red together--that you didn't have a muddle of brown in the middle! This is just beautiful, CAS, yet very striking indeed! Thanks for playing with us at the Paper Players this week!
