Wishing you Joy

Hi everyone.  Today's card is for the SCS Color Challenge this week (CC400 - retro challenge - pick one of three previous color challenges).  I chose Color Challenge 356 - lime, teal, gray ... love these colors together.  I made a non-traditional colored Christmas card using a sweet stamp from Stampendous (Birdie) that I purchased after seeing a card made with this image by my good friend (and enabler) Pam Sparks ... thanks Pam!

This little girl is so adorable.  I colored in her face and hair with copics (and the birdie) and then paper pieced her outfit.  Not only did I paper piece, by I added layers so that there's some depth as well.  I finished her outfit by adding clear stickles to the fur trim.  I added a strip of the same designer paper at the top of the page, as I used for her scarf, hair ribbon and stockings ... and trimmed it with a thin strip of Kiwi Kiss.  I added the same two strips to the inside bottom of the card to add interest.  Hope you like.

Stamps:  Birdie (Stampendous); Wishing you Joy (Kolette Hall)
Paper:  White (C.C. Designs); Kiwi Kiss (SU!); Hellow Sunshine DP (Bo Bunny)
Ink:  Basic Black (SU!); Copics E000, E00, E01, E44, E77, BG57, B99, W4, 0 (colorless blender)
Accessories & Tools:  Stamp-a-ma-jig, glue, clear stickles, sponge, and adhesives

Here's a close up of the main image so you can see more details ...

  8. I'm not usually a big fan of 'cuties' on cards Loll, but you have made an inspirational card here. I love the DSP and card stock strip at the top tying in with your colouring and paper piecing.
