This is also for CAS-ual Friday's latest challenge (CFC84 - thank you).
Stamps: Short and Sweet (SU!)
Paper: White (C.C. Designs); Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery (SU!)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry (SU!)
Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Designer Oval Frame embossing folder (Sizzix for SU!), Square Lattice embossing folder (Sizzix), Hydrangea punch (Martha Stewart), Little Leaves die (Sizzix), Pine Branch punch (McGill), 1/8" Certainly Celery Taffeta ribbon, mini white half pearls, glue, Stamp-a-ma-jig, sponge, glue, adhesives, and dimensionals
I embossed the oval frame near the top of my card front. I made a flower spray using the leaves, pine branches and hydrangea flowers which have been embossed with the lattice embossing folder. I normally wouldn't have added ribbon, keeping this as CAS as possible, but the folder created a crease mark which is covered by the taffeta ribbon. :)
Here's a close-up of the main image:

Some good news to share .... my "Skating by ..." card was picked for 2nd place at the Bugaboo December Theme challenge (Holiday / Winter) ... and it was picked as one of the Top 3 at the new challenge blog - CAS - Colours & Sketches for the Challenge #5 (Sketch). Whoo Hoo!! Thanks so much Tammy and Jacqueline!

FYI, I'm having trouble with Blogger right now. For some reason, when I try to insert an image, Blogger doesn't give me the "Browse" button anymore so that I can browse for the correct file. Turns out I read another blogger friend of mine who is having the same problem, so at least now I know it's not personal :)
Hopefully Blogger will get things fixed soon and I'll be able to post some more cards.
THis is gorgeous - I think I feel a case coming on - thank you so much for sharing your card.
ReplyDeleteSensational colors fabulous floral spray. The hydrangea punches are my favorites. I love creative cover ups, the ribbon finishes it nicely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Loll! Lovely colours. Sue x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card - love the layout. The hydrangea punches are so versatile, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations on having your other card picked as a top 3 finisher in two challenges!!
Gorgeous, gorgeous card. I always have to add ribbon too for this eb folder. BTW Loll, I am now keeping 2 eb plates free of marks by using ONLY for EB folders. Has really cut down on little marks (breaks) in the CS.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Loll....I think ALL your cards are winners :-)

ReplyDeleteFirst, congratulations on the wins with your "Skating by" adorable card!
ReplyDeleteYour card here is another one of those "not-a-card,-a-gift" cards. A beautiful fresh-picked bouquet. Also, it's a reminder to me that I have that little embossed oval, so thank you for that whack upside my head!
This is so pretty, love the oval accent. I had trouble with Blogger too with that same issue, I changed browzers to Mozilla and that worked.
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty, Loll. As I was reading your post I was thinking I always get folder marks, but the ribbon is a fabulous way to cover the mark, so I'll pinch that idea. Congrats on the Skating By picks.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Loll! Your cards are all winners! I love this embossed oval and the purple flowers are breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThis is so elegant. I never tire of that Short & Sweet set!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous card!
