Hello Doily!

Hi everyone.  Sorry about the title of this post ... I couldn't resist!! :)  Just got this new Lacy & Lovely stamp set from SU!  So pretty!!  Had a little trouble getting it inked with Crumb Cake ... I think I stamped it five times before I gave up (the center is very faded).  I even tried adding re-inker to my stamp pad but it didn't seem to help.

Then I thought I'd just stamp it separately in a darker color (Soft Suede), cut out the center and pop it up.  I'm so happy with how it turned out.  Originally I had a beautiful red rose as the accent ... but it stuck up too far and was too "weighty" for the card.  I settled on a small glittery heart - just a small accent so that the lace doily is the main star.  I popped up the Soft Suede-framed main panel for more depth.

This card is for the latest challenge as Inkspirational - CASE Challenge #8.  Hope you like.

Here's the challenge card for CASE'ing:

I kept the layout and heart accent ... but the colors, subject and main image are different.

Stamps:  Lacy & Lovely (SU!)
Paper:  White, Soft Suede, Red Glitter
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Accessories & Tools:  Heart punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, adhesives, and dimensionals

Here's a close-up of the main image:

I love the clean line. Try taking an eraser to your stamp and then rought it up a little bit with a file. That may help it stamp! Also, I stamp on a couse pad when it's a big stamp. Thanks for sharing.

PS: The eraser tip will help--I've done it on a bunch of my stamps! :)

I LOVE this Pia, the doily is perfect for this case and I think that it worked out perfectly in this ink and popping up the centre really brings your eye to the glittery heart. Thanks for joining us at Inkspirational.

Gorgeous card Loll - just love the colours. Isn't it frustrating when the ink doesn't seem to "stick"? I've found this with some of the SU stamps and have heard about using a rubber to take off anything that might be left after the factory process so it might work. Anyway I think it worked in your favour as it looks lovely with the darker inner.

Ha Ha, at first I thought you had dedicated a post to me, Lolly!! Your doily card is inspired! What a "work-it-out" brain you are blessed with to come up with an amazing solution that ended up adding depth to your George S. card! xxoo Dolly

This is SO elegant! Love your choice of crumb cake color, it's one of my favorite colors! I like the detail of the little red heart and with your choice of sentiment this card can be used for many different types of occasions - I like that about a card!
