Hi everyone. Here is my Design Team card for the latest Addicted to CAS challenge. Each challenge has a code word (selected by the design team) to inspire your creations.
It's Harriet's turn (Ally Cat Cards) to be in charge of this challenge and she chose "Spring". :)
I'm so happy to make a bright and cheerful card during all this miserable, rainy weather. Looking forward to when the sun is shining and I can get out in the garden and play in the dirt! :)
Stamps: Flower Fusion #6 (leaves) - Melissa J; Spring is Here (Penny Black)
Paper: White; Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Mambo Melon polka-dot DPs (SU!)
Ink: Garden Green (SU!)
Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Five Point Flowers die (C.C. Designs), Lemondrop twine (the Twinery), stylus kit and mat, Stamp-a-ma-jig, glue dots, and dimensionals
This is a super simple card. I die-cut two sizes of the flowers from each of the three polka-dot DPs and then used my stylus and mat to give the flowers some shape before gluing the centers in place. I stamped the stems and leaves, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up (LOVE these plaid leaves!). Then I glued the flower heads onto each stem. The sentiment is a stamp I bought ages ago (but hadn't inked yet). And a little twine with a knot to finish things off.

I hope I have inspired you to join us for this fun challenge. Check out the other fabulous creations by the Design Team members at ATCAS!

Since I had all my papers out ... and the die-cut comes with three sizes of flowers (which I had cut a set of each), I decided to use the leftover large flowers and make another card. So basically same papers, same die-cut and same sentiment. Just changed up the layout and added some buttons! Hope you like this version ...
I added some faux stitching around the edges of the four punched squares, which are popped up off the card front. The flowers are also popped up on the squares, so there's lots of dimension. Added twine to the centers of the buttons and used a glue dot to secure them in place.

This card inspired me to create my own Card Candy which is featured in an earlier post (Mar. 21). If you are interested in adding your name to a draw for a set of these cute flowers, please remember to leave me a comment on my Mar. 21st post before Mar. 29th. Anyone that leaves a comment will be entered for a draw to win two packages of Loll's Card Candy - one with nine of these cute polka-dot, button centered flowers and one with nine polka-dot centered daisies.
Hi, Loll! I love both your cards but I must admit that the second one is my favourite! I love those little squares you have used to pop up your flowers. Wonderful dimension. I love they were made from leftovers. Lovely, bright spring cards my friend xx

Loll, you are making the most wonderful cards with your "candy" - I love all of them. I'm heading outside to clean up another one of my flower beds - hooray for spring!
ReplyDeleteLoll, both of these cards are wonderful and happy and spring inspiring! I too can not wait to get out and get my hands in that dirt, I have started some seeds indoors and they are getting there, just need more sun and warmer weather, we have not had much snow, but I can't wait for the warmer, not HOT, but warmer weather!!
ReplyDeleteYour cards really put me in the mood!!
Thanks again for the chance to win some candy!!

Thanks for the inspiration with your flower cards. Now...if only all the snow around here would melt!
ReplyDeleteLoll I absolutely love the flower embellies that you have been creating. I love that you used them on these sweet Spring cards you made for the challenge! Hugs, Harriet
ReplyDeleteYour cards are indeed SPRING personified, Lolly! I can sure see how that second card inspired you to make your sweet flower card candy!! Yummo!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love that first card with the darling flowers and plaid leaves! The second is really pretty too! A good reminder of Spring!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards Loll. The epitome of Spring. Still wet and very cold here as well but I feel quite optimistic that Spring will arrive soon!
ReplyDeleteCrafty hugs, Florence x
I enjoyed both cards Loll and the colors do make one smile! The weather here does not know what to do. We get to 60 then it plummets to 25 and hey call for snow! Makes no sense! I love how you just coordinated twine on the buttons to bring in the colors! The small touches really make the whole card pop.
ReplyDeleteLove all your flower cards Loll! So sweet and Spring-y!
ReplyDeleteWow Loll - I am thoroughly impressed with your gorgeous flowers and Spring cards. What a terrific idea to make your own card candy! I so long to see some flowers in my yard. We keep getting teased by the weather lately - warm and sunny one day, cold and a little snowy the next.
ReplyDeleteThese are both just so pretty, Loll, so colourful and fresh and spring-like! I particularly love the first one with the double flowers and plaid leaves! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWow! You've really been busy posting! I had to scroll way down to see your ATCAS card....but on the way down I also got to see numerous beauties!! I love the button centered flowers! Very "Springy"
ReplyDeleteLoll,
ReplyDeleteyou are such a great card designer. And your CAS cards I love most - this one is no exception. Great spring colors, love the popped up flowers!
