Hi everyone. Here is my Design Team card for the latest challenge at Addicted to CAS.
This challenge is being run by the super-creative Karen B (Serendipity Dragonfly), and she chose this fabulous word ...
Prize: 4 digital images from Delicious Doodles
(please follow the rules to be eligible to win)
Stamps: Fly Away with Me (C.C. Designs); Sunny Sentiments (Amy R)
Paper: White (C.C. Designs); Whisper White, Sycamore Street DP (SU!)
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo (SU!)
Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Up and Away Dies (kite) - C.C. Designs, Puffy Clouds (Memory Box), Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), sponges, cloud template (hand-made), Stamp-a-ma-jig, glue, adhesives, and dimensionals
I stamped the kite and then cut out with matching die ... it took me a while to get a good one and will have to research the proper way to line these dies up - I know there's a trick, I just need to find it :)
I sponged the background sky using my own template and Pool Party ink.
The card front is popped up for more dimension, along with the kite and clouds.
Here's a close-up:
I hope I have inspired you to join in our fun challenge ... Addicted to CAS - Take Flight. Come check out all the wonderful creations by the other Design Team members.
Hi Loll. I LOVE this kite flying up in the beautiful blue sky. Your colour choices are wonderful. One thing I do when I have trouble with dies moving around is to use a bit of masking tape or painters tape to stick the die to the paper and then you know it will cut perfectly around the image. xx
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous gorgeous card as usual. A fabulous image. Your CAS style always fascinates me - I don't think I could do it.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Lea x
Love the way you put clouds behind the kite with sponging and then in front with die cuts! Great card with such a happy summer feel to it.
ReplyDeleteCute card Loll, makes me want to float away on the clouds myself. But instead we are off to the movies. But had to come check to see what you made, and of course I just love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your talents with us,
hugs
Donna
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
Another gorgeous creation Loll - love the kite and the way you've put the clouds on the frame in front of the kite flying high. A tip about cutting/matching the stamped image and dies............I always had problems til someone told me the trick! If you take a piece of card and place your die centrally on it taping down one side of it, put it through your die cutting machine. Then stamp your image, place your piece of card with the negative shape already cut out on top of the stamped image, put the die on top and voila - perfectly cut dies every time with no problems. Have a go and let me know if it works for you.
