Hi everyone. Here is my latest card candy ... and you've seen one of these sunflowers before on this card. :) I actually have had these made for about a week now, just been waiting for July to roll around. I've already started my candy for August :)
I really enjoy coming up with new ideas, trying out different colors of cardstock and patterned papers ... just a little something different from making cards. Again I've used mostly SU! cardstock in yellows and oranges. I've made the sunflowers in one and two layers for two different looks ... the plain flowers are sponged with ink for added interest and the two-layer ones are also shaped with stylus and mat to give them dimension.
Love the gingham sunflowers ... so fun! I've included some (optional) leaves at the bottom of the package.
Here's a close-up:

Would you like some of the card candy above??
I'm again offering the above to one person that leaves a comment on this posting before July 10th. I will use the "True Random Number Generator" to determine which comment will receive the candy.
Thanks for stopping by ... :)
Edited: Should have mentioned that these sunflowers are made with a die from C.C. Designs, called ... you guessed it ... sunflower! :) It's a 2-piece die (petals and center are separate) ... and the center comes with the piercing (love that effect!). The leaves are a die from Memory Box called Tender Leaves (comes with four different sizes of the same leaf - very versatile!).
What fun card candy Loll...these would look fabulous on any card

ReplyDeleteAwesome sunflowers. I already got luckier than I expected with the beautiful beach candy, but I just had to say how gorgeous your flowers were. Are you using a die or a punch to do these beauties? I'm loving these....I see the Sizzix Susan(can NOT remember her last name...it's something with Susan's Garden) anyway, she has a die for the sunflowers, along with some other pretty flowers. Yours are lovely, you do a great job in making them so realistic! TFS, the chance to win, and most of all, to enjoy seeing flowers done well. Hugs

What did you make the centers of, is that carstock?
Hi Donna. Yep, the centers are cardstock. I sponged the edges and shaped the centers with my stylus and mat to give them dimension and make them rounded. I used a pop-dot to adhere them to the main part of the flowers. Loll xx

Hi Nancy, the leaves are a die from Memory Box called Tender Leaves (I've updated my post above). Definitely worth getting this die set, in my opinion.
DeleteHave mailed out your sunflowers card candy today so you should have it by next week hopefully. I will not include you in the draw. :) Loll xx
