O Christmas Tree

Hi everyone.  Another quick and CAS Christmas card to share with you today.  I made a very small "folded Christmas tree" (click here to see the tutorial on SCS), and placed it inside a circle aperture.  The background for the circle cut-out is brick embossing on white (love this embossing folder and can't get enough of it!!). :)  I added some paper piercing around the circle to give it more presence.  A glittery star on top of the tree and a simple sentiment finished it off.

Here's a close-up:

I did learn something with this card and I'll pass it along.  It is easier to pierce the circle first and then cut out the center ... much easier to make sure they are lined up.

I used a small half circle of the retired "Be of Good Cheer" designer paper from SU! for the folded tree.  Once the folding was done, I rounded off the bottom so it was symmetrical.  I used a scrap for the tree as well as for the brick embossed background, so I'm entering this into Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground - Week #88.

Stamps:  Merry and Bright (Amy R)
Paper:  White (C.C. Designs); Be of Good Cheer - retired, silver glimmer (SU!)
Ink:  Gumball Green (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Holiday Shapes die (Simon Says), Brick embossing folder (Tim Holtz for Sizzix); paper piercing tool, template and mat, Stamp-a-ma-jig, glue, adhesives, and dimensionals

You are turning out some really pretty cards. This is yet another one I am loving, and I will be checking out that tutorial. Your paper piercing really set off your pretty little folded tree, and I can see why the brick EF is such a favorite. So appropriate with these cards you've done lately. TFS

Hi there Loll, a really lovely card and cleverly used snippets too :) I've just checked SCS and the tree looks fun to do - and it's just perfect against the brick wall as well as in the aperture. Neat little tip about the paper piercing too.

Great to see you in the Snippets Playground Loll - I've seen your name mentioned by a few playmates lately. Welcome and I do hope you come back to play again.

Hugs, Di xx

This card is so adorable with both the folding tree and the aperture. I really like to make tea bag folding and Iris folding cards, but I have not tried this technique yet...it's been on my to do list for a while now. You have inpired me. I have just come back from a couple days away...so I am way behind in my emails and blog commenting...so I just became a follower so I can come back and see more of your beautiful cards at a later time...(When I get caught up...smile...If that will happen...LOL
