Hi everyone. Have you ever started out making a card with a plan in your head ... only for it to morph into something completely different??!! Of course, we all have ... but the problem is that I was CASE'ing this beautiful card by Susie. Susie has had the double pleasure of being picked this week at Splitcoaststampers as Queen for the Day AND Featured Stamper - wow!! Congrats to you Susie!
I'm hoping that you can still see that this card is inspired by Susie. I have the leaves and the CAS design ... just went with more white space .... OK, all white space :) I do love the little banner sentiment ... I don't know why I don't have banners on my cards more often.
This also will be entered into the Less is More #139 Sketch challenge and CAS-ology #64 - cue word: Harvest. And, because I used a snippet on this card, I'm entering it into Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground #92.
Here's a close-up:
Stamps: Friends Sentiments (Amy R)
Paper: White
Ink: Early Espresso (SU!)
Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Large Leaves #2 dies (Cheery Lynn), Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Woodgrain embossing folder (Sizzix for SU!), Copper metal sheet .005 thickness (K&S Precision Metals), mini torch, sticky strips and dimensionals
I heated the copper with the mini brule torch until it changed color and then die-cut the two leaves. Sometimes I have to use my scissors to get the die-cut to release from the sheet ... it worked pretty well with this die.

On another note, I managed to get a batch of Red Pepper Jelly made this afternoon ... just starting my jelly and relish making and have lots to do as I give them out to family and friends at Christmas. Today I decided to throw caution to the wind and not wear gloves when handling the jalapeno peppers ... big mistake. My hands are burning so much right now, it's hard to type - yikes!!! I'll never make that mistake again!
Edited to Add: ... was telling my hubby how much my hands were burning and he suggested coating them in baking soda ... it worked!!! :)

Also, today marks an anniversary for our family that is one worth recognizing, even though it was a very traumatic event. One year ago today, my dear, sweet hubby had a heart attack. He survived ... and we are celebrating tonight. We are so thankful ... so blessed.

These copper leaves are so pretty! That was the card I was CASEing and I didn't get very close to Susie's beautiful design. The copper really shines with all the white space and especially the embossed circle! One of my favorites of your cards, Loll!
Truly a day to celebrate! Congrats on surviving such a traumatic event.
This is so beautiful. Never tried this technique with copper,, and after seeing your results, must give it a try. Once again, the leaves steal the show!
wysmakowana, elegancka, ślicznie wykonana. Jestem zachwycona Twoją interpretacją tematu.
Another stunning card, Loll! The copper leaves are just absolutely amazing. Perfect CAS card for the CASology challenge this week...thanks for joining us again! (And so glad to hear you are celebrating your husband's health...best wishes to him for many more years of healthy fun to come!)
It is strange how we can have one idea in mind, and then the card morphs on its own, as tho we have had no say on how it should be! This is gorgeous, Loll, simple elegance. Tons of texture, and yet so little space used. Beautiful. I have looked back quite a bit on your blog and thoroughly enjoyed myself today. Thanks for the inspiration. Your recipes look yummy! I wanted to say how thoughtful your "candy" is each month because it is lovingly made with your own hands. I have become your newest follower, not for the candy, but because I am smitten by your style, after pinning several of your cards. Though my cards are not nearly as exquisite as yours, I invite you to take a little peek. Thanks again for the enjoyable morning, hugs, de {Creative Smiles}
