Hi everyone. Over at the MUSE (#40) challenge this week ... the guest designer is my friend Darnell. Congrats Darnell!! She made a gorgeous card in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please click here to read Darnell's post - you'll be glad you did.
Here's Darnell's card for inspiration.
I really focused on the flowers and the colors of Darnell's card, changing up the layout a bit. I used an old set from SU! called Echoes of Kindness (hence the name of this post). It's such a beautiful set of flower stamps ... I never get tired of them.
I stamped the image in staz-on black ink and color using a blender pen and ink onto Whisper White card stock (marker layering). I outlined the image with my Certainly Celery Stampin' write marker to give it a shadow effect.
Stamps: Echoes of Kindness (SU!); Sunny Sentiments (Amy R)
Paper: White; Whisper White (SU!)
Ink: Staz-on black, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery (SU!)
Accessories & Tools: Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, blender pen, adhesives, and dimensionals
Here's a close-up of my card so you can see more details:
I'm finding that now I have new shelving, it blocks the light where I always have taken my photos of cards. Isn't that always the way?? ... change one thing for the positive, and it has negative effects somewhere else :) It probably doesn't help that this time of year, the light coming in the window from outside is dull --- my pictures seemed much better during the summer.
I have been thinking for a while now about making a light box for taking photos ... this is hopefully going to push me to do it sooner rather than later :) I found instructions on-line and now I just need to talk hubby into helping me build it. It's not going to be on his priority list ... but if I start mucking with the tools in his shop, he'll probably take over so that I don't damage anything :) We'll see if that works :)

A great CASE of Darnell's card! Love the little tab of ribbon - a perfect finishing touch.
Hi Loll, gorgeous CASE of Darnell's card. These flowers are really pretty. Your new shelving looks great too! so tidy and organized. Love all the colourful containers :) Cathy x
Oh Congratulations to Jeanne on her candy win. I know she will love it! Loved Darnell's card the 1st time I saw it at her blog...just as pretty once again. That is one talented lady! Loved your take on it as well. It's just beautiful. I'm interested in the light box, so I shall be watching for progress. Would love to have the instruction link. Not sure if a box would improve my photography skill any, but I keep telling myself it might! Hugs & TFS such a lovely card.
Thank you for joining in CASEing my card for this week's MUSE, Lolly! It is so beautiful! I love your flowers and the layout with that ribbonl fits it wonderfully!! I know what you mean about the difference in the light coming in the window. I notice that my white card stock is looking more grey than white. Hugs to you, Dolly (Congrats to Jeanne!)
Hi Loll, I thought this was watercolored and then realised you got this look from the shading-great idea. I know what you mean about te light. If you have chance, have a look at me Pinterst board and you will see instructions for a light box. I haven't tried it but thought it might give you another idea. If you have succes with yours do let me know x
Hi there, I have exactly the same problem with my light and especially now the weather has changed. Yours looks fabulous and bright so looks like you got a little ray of sunshine. Such a beautiful and elegant card and your coloring is amazing

Loll, you take a card to CASE and make yours so serene and peaceful. This card brought tears . . . thank you from a survivor of 14 years. And good luck with your light box - I try to use an Ott light but get shadows at times.
Congrats to Jeanne on winning your card candy! I'm sure she will really enjoy your beautiful creations!
Your card is absolutely beautiful, Loll! I love the soft pink flowers...they have such a lovely watercolor look, and your 'off-set' panel and ribbon brings the eye right to your focal point! Really wonderful take on Darnell's card!

Really quite lovely, Loll. Your take on Darnell's card is wonderful. It's all you, with a flavoring of Darnell. What a perfect card for those who have been through this mill. Amazing. Bev
Your card is simply stunning! I have a pretty good window with pretty good late afternoon light from April - Sep and then Oct comes along & messes everything up every year :) good luck with the light box (although I don't think I've every seen a bad photo of your cards).
