Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a few days ... life has been getting in the way of my card time :) MIL went into the hospital on Sunday, but thankfully she is feeling better and was released yesterday. A stressful and hectic time for all of us, especially hubby and I hope now that his mom is feeling better, he will take some time to relax.
I missed getting a chance to wish my American friends a happy Thanksgiving ... so hope you all had a wonderful day and are maybe even having some fun shopping today! We had our Thanksgiving last month ... and I'm already looking forward to our turkey dinner at Christmas!
Today I made a card just for the fun of it ... not a DT card, not for any challenge ... just for the heck of it! I thought I'd make something with this beautiful color combo - just love the deep teal and the lime green together. I do love this fern die from Cheery Lynn and today I've cut it out of fabric. This lime green fabric was a piece that came wrapped around a pot of flowers I received as a gift ... it's almost like facing material ... quite stiff, but a little transparent. I glued it onto a piece of white card stock and then die-cut the fern. Worked beautifully.
I have shown the card in a larger size on the blog in the hopes that you can see more detail. My concern is that the image will be too large for some computer screens ... and it's important that you can see the card all at once (don't want to have to scroll down to see the bottom of the card). I would love some feedback so I know if this is better ... or if I should go back to my old size. Thanks in advance!!! :)
More on the card ... I used a Certainly Celery Stampin' Write marker to draw in the veins of the leaves to give them more definition. The Bermuda Bay card stock was run through the Big Shot with the woodgrain embossing folder - love it done in this color! ... and this was Jer's suggestion as he was over when I was making this and I originally had a white woodgrain piece with a BBay border - this is so much better - thanks Jer! :) A simple sentiment finishes the card.
Paper: White; Bermuda Bay (SU!)
Ink: Certainly Celery, Bermuda Bay (SU!)
Accessories & Tools: Big Shot, Green material, Fern die (Cheery Lynn), Woodgrain embossing folder (Sizzix), glue, adhesives, and dimensionals

Just a quick note to say that I might not be posting as much over the next little while. Christmas is getting close and I have lots of shopping, baking, etc. to do. As well, I have dinner parties booked for the next three weekends ... and a bake day with a friend. So my time in the studio will be limited, but hopefully I'll have some time to play. There will be the scheduled design team cards as well.

As always you have a winning card & color combo. Love these 2 colors together, and thanks for the fabric & c/s backing tip. I have tons of quilt qtrs that I'd love to use somehow with cards. This worked beautifully on your die. Congrats to Anne for a special win too. I know she's going to love the Loll Candy. Also hope your MIL continues to improve each day and that your DH can get a little stress free relaxing. Worry over a loved one can take the starch out of a body, for sure. Take care, TFS & hugs
Love this colour combo Loll - stunning. Like your use of fabric, it gives the card that extra dimension. I'm viewing this on my tablet and the size is absokutely fine - lovely to be able to see all the detail. Great news about your MIL. Must be a relief to all of you. Many congratulations to my friend Anne who's won your candy - I know she loves it!

Congrats to Anne on winning your amazing card candy! I guess I can stop crossing my fingers and toes now ~ LOL!
I'm glad your MIL is feeling better, and I hope your hubby will feel relieved by that. Always a worry, right?
How nice that you were able to find some time to create this gorgeous card just for the heck of it! I love how you paired the deep teal and lime green together...it's such a pretty color combo, and the texture on the fern is fabulous!
I have to say that I like this size of your card on screen. It's easy to see the details and rich colors, so it works for me!
Enjoy all of your upcoming events...we'll be here when you're able to post ~ Take care!
Beautiful card, Loll! That colour combo is stunning. The larger size photo is great on the iPad on landscape orientation. Glad to know your MIL is improving, and enjoy your busy build-up to Christmas!
Congratulations to Anne on the win.
Very pretty CAS card

I love the card Loll, the colors make the design pop off the page. There are a lot of things one could do with this design and it would be great for a Muse card.
Glad to hear your m-i-l is going to be okay.
I really like the larger size showing more detail. Thanks for all you share!!! I really enjoy your blog.
Great card! I like the larger size - more detail showing. Glad your mil is doing well. Have a great holiday with all your goings on - we all will look forward to your new creations after the new year! Sarah
Lovely colour combination! And thanks for the tip on how to use that floral fabric - I saved some from a gift I got ages ago and never thought of a way to use it. Your larger photo size is fine for my computer (a laptop).
I like the larger photos better. My eyesight isn't good and it makes it easier to see the details of the card. Ever since Blogger changed the way photos are viewed when you click to enlarge them I find that more often than not they aren't any larger at all. So, I love it when the blogger just puts the larger photos right in the post.
Sorry to hear MIL has been so unwell but glad she is now home and hubby can relax. Sounds like you have an action packed month ahead so hope you enjoy all of your celebrations. Wonderful card Loll and those colors are jet sublime together.

What a cheerful color combination! Isn't it fun to just stamp because you want to? I think we'll all be pretty busy from now til Christmas!
Oh, and I like the larger picture. I asked for feedback a while back and it was pretty much the same for as against.
Beautiful card...love the colors. As for the size, I just make the decision when I download, whichever looks better at the time. I do tend to like the larger size as you get a closer view.
Congrats to Anne on the win. She'll enjoy creating with those snowflakes.
I'm busy, too, being away on a trip for Thanksgiving and now so much to do for Christmas. Creating and posting has slowed considerably.
