Hi everyone. I bought this sweet digital image from Sweet 'n Sassy and paired it with a digital sentiment from Pink Petticoat . Just bought a huge stack of Christmas papers ... five packs from Etsy and four more packs from Simon Says. I'm gearing up to make lots of Christmas cards and tags this year and I really want to start using more patterned papers. Today's card uses two ... one for the background (falling snow) and a second for the paper pieced scarf that the snowman is wearing. I had a lot of fun making this card.
I sponged blue ink around the edges of the snowman to add interest and also coated all edges with dazzling diamonds (along with the top of the snow bank) ... unfortunately, the glitter doesn't really show up in the photograph - but it looks good in real life :)
I've been busy for several days and have missed making cards. My studio is partially emptied as I continue to try to sort through and downsize. Have lots of bits and pieces that I've been hanging on to for years and it's time to let them go!
Hubby and I went to Ikea yesterday and bought three bookcases that are going to be my main storage in the closet of my studio. Should really help to get me more organized - can't wait to get them assembled and in place. :)
Off to visit DDIL and DGS tomorrow. Looking forward to cuddling with Cooper. :)

ReplyDeleteEnjoy that cuddle time with your DGS. There's nothing so sweet on earth.
Adorable snowman and card. I intend to creat lots of Christmas cards this year, many of them featuring snowmen LOL.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card, Loll!! That is a great snowman! And your use of patterned paper is perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm not one to make Christmas cards all through the year, I will definitely be looking forward to seeing how you use all that patterned paper. I have bought so much patterned paper in my fairly short stint as a cardmaker, and I just never seem to end up using any of it. I can't believe I have so much of it and yet never seem to have just the right pattern that will work when I want to use it. I've thought that I need to just challenge myself to use it... just pull out a piece and force myself to create a card around whatever colors and pattern it has. Goodness knows that's not how I design my cards, but I need to make use of what I have purchased! Who knows... I might actually get some good cards out of that process! LOL!
Loll, that is such a cute snowman! Love his smile and his upturned face! Great use of the snowflake dp for a perfect background.
ReplyDeleteLoll, just love this happy little snowman! Great use of your new papers! Simply adorable!

ReplyDeleteLove, LOVE this snowman and sentiment! :0) And your background paper is just perfect too! It just hit me that I need to look for background papers that are less busy (although it's the bright and colorful ones that always grab my attention first!!) so that they don't compete with my stamped images...thanks for finally getting that through my head! :0)
