Hi everyone. Back with more homework from my stenciling class. The class is now finished, but I have lots of technique that I haven't gotten to yet. Today's card uses the stencil for adding embossing paste, and then covering the paste with embossing powder while it's still wet. Once everything is dry, the embossing powder is heated until it melts. Love the look of these raised stars for the backdrop.
I used the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch #61 for my card today (it is one of my favorites layouts and I use it A LOT!) :)
I added a large gold foil star for the focal with a star center of DP and a red rhinestone for a little color. Some gold cording and Merry die-cut from gold foil finishes the card. I LOVE gold! I started using it a lot on my Christmas cards last year.
I'll be back tomorrow with more "homework". For now, I'm in my studio playing and trying to stay warm as there are big, gaping holes in my house right now. Our windows are being replaced. It all started yesterday (and went very smoothly) ... so hopefully it will all be done by the end of tomorrow. For now sweaters and more sweaters :)

Aw, each card is better than the last one! All I've done is store the emails in a saved folder! I'm inspired by what you & Brenda have accomplished, and in my wanderings, have found several other classmates. I like all the gold you are using too. The window installation will go fast, then you gotta clean 'em. At least we did. Right now we're getting snow flurries and I'm watching our back deck get white. Just now beginning to stand a bit on the brown grass. Enjoyable to be cozy & warm inside & watch the white drift down. TFS & Hugs. Great work on your homework. You'll get an A+ for shore.
Those gold stars in the background look so pretty and so does the big one. Stenciling class sounds as if it was a lot of fun.
I know how cold you must be. We had a French door replaced recently and I almost froze until they were through.
Ohhhh Loll -haven't tried, or even thought, of this one. Love the sound of the embossing powder and your card is gorgeous. It's quite amazing just how many ofn our fellow bloggers are on this course - great seeing their different take on the techniques.

Another wonderful card, Loll. I've been playing around with the same technique, but he embossing did not come out as evenly as yours. But that may be because I don't have any embossing paste and used Alleene's snow. I figured that might work, too LOL. I have not yet finished my card, but I did load up my cards for day 1 & 2. Yay!

This card is fabulous, Loll. I love your star stencil and the way you did it with the embossing powder on top of the paste. The rest of the card is great too - I might have to buy that stacking star die!
