Happy Father's Day Evan!

Hi everyone.  Today we are celebrating with our family ... this is the first Father's Day for our son Evan, so I wanted to make him a special card. :)  If you want more details on how this leaf was watercolored/splattered, click on this link to a post from a week ago, where the fern leaf was done in the same way.

Happy Father's Day Evan!

He loves being a dad ... and both he and Nikki are so happy to have Cooper in their lives (us too!).  He is the sweetest little guy and I can't help but kiss his head whenever I'm holding him. :)

Here's a picture of Cooper that was taken recently.  He's asleep, but still holding on to his toy - so adorable! :)

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes (SU!)
Paper:  110 lb. white (Neenah), Watercolor (Arches 140 lb. cold press)
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Big Shot, Leaf die-cut from my friend Susan (Spellbinders), Grid stencil cut with Silhouette Cameo, sponges, brush, water mister, Gold Acrylic Paint (Lumiere), Copper Acrylic Paint (Tsukineko), Copper thread twine

    1. Hi Lorraine. The splotches are from splattering with a paint brush. I used three colors for the splattering -- dark brown, gold and copper. The dark brown is ink that I diluted with water --- the gold and copper are acrylic paints that I also diluted with water. Once it is thin, you pick up a lot on a paint brush, and then hold the paint brush over your work and tap with your other hand. The harder you tap, the larger the splattering. This leaf is done in the same technique as the leaf I did on June 8th. If you want more instructions, just check out the posting. Loll :)

  11. Beautiful card for a first Father's day for your son. I can just bet he is so very proud to be a new Dad. TFS the link to the how-to-s, and I'll check that out. Cause this is just so pretty, and I loved the stenciled background too. Adorable little grand, and I can see why you'd be smooching him. It's so hard to resist a sweet cuddly little one, and you're lucky to be his Granma and be able to squeeze & kiss him all you want! TFS & Hugs. Off to enjoy some posts here that I've missed.
