Hi everyone. This is for the new challenge at Mixed Media Card Challenge #3 - Autumn Colors with optional elements of metal or leaves. I did both :)
Prize: $15 Gift Certificate
I sponged with a leaf stencil on the left side only, fading out as I reached the edge and the center of the card front; and then stamped script in the same ink over top. I randomly added embossing paste over a quatrefoil stencil on the right.
I used my copper sheets (not heated) to die-cut several leaves. I LOVE these leaf die sets from Cheery Lynn because not only does it have a variety of beautifully shaped leaves, but it embosses the veins when being die-cut.
I then pounced the leaves with a mix of three colors of alcohol inks, leaving a little of the copper still showing through. Love how the leaves turned out so I made several others to use on future cards. And I also inked up a full 6"x6" sheet of copper ... so you'll be seeing more of this inked copper later :)
I added a simple sentiment banner and placed the leaves on top with a little twine bow to finish.
I hope you'll come and play along with us ... such a fun challenge and there are amazing cards for inspiration from the other members of the Design Team - click HERE to take a look.
The challenge is open until September 25th, so there's lots of time to enter. Hope to see you in the challenge gallery! :)
