Hi everyone. I have a different kind of card to share with you today for the current challenge at ATS&M (#116 - Anything Goes).

I've made another vintage style card, this time using a beautiful image from STAMPloration's Bloom Sketches stamp set.
I watercolored the background and flowers, and then coated the panel with Clear Rock Candy Crackle. Wasn't sure it would work, but after two coats, I had a beautiful crackled, shiny finish. Next I needed to highlight the cracks by sponging over everything with dark brown distress ink ... that was stressful!! :) I had no idea what would happen and if I would ruin my pretty watercoloured flowers. After sponging and then going over it with a water brush to dilute, the ink washed down into the cracks and the flowers did show (although very toned down in colour). I'm happy with the finished panel. It was fun to experiment and learn new things along the way :)

What an amazing card Loll, it looks like a tainted glass work to me! It can be framed and used as a decorative, the little charm is a great addition.
I adore this cracked look and it really worked out how you wanted, it looks stunning..you know it kind of reminds me of the look of paintings you see in old churches. If you had a religious stamp or a sort of vintage stamp this technique would make it look like an old painting.....listen to me! Just an idea that came to me looking at the amazing card!

Wow Loll, this is one beautiful vintage card! I am so loving those poppies but really loving the crackle finish you put on them. So cool looking! I would have been scared too to wash it down with some dark ink, but it turned out beautiful!!! Hugs, Brenda

Oh my goodness...that crackle is wonderful! Thought at first it was the PB poppies, but see that it's a different image. I'm going to be trying this crackle effect as it is truly so very vintage & I like this look lots. TFS a beautiful card and a good technique idea! Hugs

This is such a GORGEOUS card, Loll! I had no idea that you could achieve this effect with Clear Rock Candy Crackle and Distress Ink...wow! Your risk really paid off with an amazing result and stunning card!

Amazing card, Loll! You've inspired me to give my crackle paints another try...I've relegated them to my "frustrating supplies" pile and they've been there for over a year because I can never get them to look the way I wanted them to look!
