Hi everyone. Today is the start of a new Mixed Media Card Challenge (#5 - Christmas with optional element: bells). I don't know about you, but I am madly trying to add more Christmas cards to my stash ... the year has flown by and it will be Christmas Day before we know it. I love all the wonderful Christmas challenges that are around right now to help inspire.
This challenge is sponsored by STAMPlorations (owned by our wonder leader here at MMCC, Shery Russ).
I wanted to created a backdrop for my pretty silver bells, so used pine sprigs, stamped in two shades of green distress inks. The bell was stamped with Versamark ink onto silver foil paper and heat embossed in black. I used my stylus and mat to add a little bit of shaping to the bells. I stamped the image a second time onto white card stock and heat embossed in black; cut out the ribbon, coloured it with Copics and glued it on top (paper piecing). I wanted the ribbon to have a bit of shine, so coated it with clear Wink of Stella ... and also added WoS to the pine sprigs.
I hope you'll check out the challenge HERE to see the rest of the beautiful Christmas creations from the talented Design Team. And I hope you'll play along with us ... the challenge is open until the 25th of November, so there's lots of time to join in.
