Hi everyone. Sharing another watercoloured card ... this one was sent to my friend Shirley (shirley-bee's stamping stuff). She has already received the card, so I'm sharing with you. :)
I went a bit crazy with this background, sloshing (a la Shirley) lots of colour. :) I love how it turned out and have been experimenting more and more with moving colour around with my fingers ... so fun!! :)

Stamps: Graceful (Penny Black); Sentiment Builders Thank You (STAMPlorations)
Paper: White card base (Neenah); Watercolor (Arches 140 lb. cold press)
Ink: Archival Black - waterproof (Ranger); Distress inks: Antique Linen, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick (Tim Holtz)
Accessories & Tools: waterbrush, water mister, heat tool, paint brush for splattering
Love the crocodile outfit! We didn't get any trick or treaters, we live down a very dark and rutted lane. They need to be pretty determined to get here without a vehicle!
ReplyDeleteLove how you added more color and moved it around with your finger. We all have that tool :-)
ReplyDelete?...do you move the ink around on your craft mat then pounce onto your watercolor paper?
TFS the adorable picture of Cooper and his mommy, Nikki too.
Hi Nancy. Yes, I have ink on my craft mat, add lots of water and then pounce my watercolour paper into it ... leaves big drops (bigger with more water). Then I move the big drops around with my thumb and fingers while it's still really wet. Lots of fun! :) xx
DeleteBeautiful card !! And Cooper is the cutest crocodile :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Loll for clarifying. Looks great and sounds Fun!! Love getting inky :-) TFS my friend.
ReplyDeleteFabulous sloshing, Loll! I love the streaky splattery background. That's got to be the cutest trick or treater :)
ReplyDeleteI've got to try "sloshing" with my fingers. It makes the most beautiful backgrounds! I can't believe how big Cooper is getting! What a doll!
ReplyDeleteThat is one adorable gator you've got your arms around! Would love to see a video of how your create your watercolor backgrounds (hint, hint, hint!) This one might be my favorite yet.

What a fun and colorful card Loll! I love all the sloshing of color on the background, it looks so fabulous. The flower just finishes off this card perfectly. I'm sure Shirley adored this card!! OMGosh, Cooper is too cute in his costume! I'm assuming he is a crocodile since that is what everyone is saying, but I thought he was a dragon. lol Kinda' looks like a dragon too. I bet he had so muh fun even if he wasn't sure what was going on. lol I know our youngest one had no clue since she is only 9 months old but boy did she look precious. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteHi Lolly,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your terrific tag challenge, Lolly! I love how you are equally adept at making both CAS and mixed media creations! I had to stop to comment on this particular post where Cooper is paying us an adorable visit in his cute gator costume!! Thank you for sharing! I can't believe how big he is already! Of course, I love your card, too! Hugs, Dolly
