Hi everyone. Autumn is coming to a close and I realized that I have made very few autumn cards this year. They are one of my favourites to make, second only to Christmas cards. The time has been a busy one for me and the season has just slipped away. But before it's gone, I'm going to share this CAS card I made a little while ago, but haven't had time to blog until now. :)
This is a super simple card. I die-cut the maple leaf from watercolour paper and sponged with red, orange and yellow inks (just randomly over the leaf). Then I spritzed with water to let the inks blend. Once dry, I splattered with a little diluted brown ink. Simple design that was easy to make.
I mounted the leaf onto a piece of text DSP, adding a stamped sentiment at the bottom in brown. I felt it needed just a little something more, so cut a small strip of the same colour of brown card stock to add to the bottom to ground my panel.

Such a pretty leaf, Loll! I think Autumn is my favorite next to Christmas cards too!
Lovely card, Loll :) I like autumn cards, too... but Christmas is definately my favourite!!!
LOVE this design, Loll. The brown strip at the bottom really compliments the background, the sentiment and that amazing maple leaf! xx
Love this card, it really is eye catching. I've never goten into Autumn cards I suppose cause when I see all this beauty from overseas we are celebrating Spring. But maybe next year I should give it a go, as there are so many pretty leaf dies available now. Better get moving and finish off somemore tags as well before you lock it down :)
Love the simplicity of this fabulous card Loll! The text paper goes so well with that gorgeous Maple leaf! have a great evening! Hazel xx

Good Morning, Loll,
I love this card! It's simple but very, very effective. I love the effect you created on the leaf dei-cut. Very lifelike colours. Thanks so much for sharing.

Gorgeous Loll! Love the colours on your leaf, so vibrant! The text background is perfect, I love that the line "soak up the sun" shows so clearly there, perfect for this time of year! hugs :)
What a fabulous CAS card Loll and after the wind we had last night, all the beautiful leaves have blown away so it was good to see the vibrant colours on yours. Have a great weekend.

Beautiful card -- that leaf is just gorgeous and I love that newspaper backdrop!
Love this Loll, you've presented the leaf so beautifully. Carol c
I feel the same way about making fall cards. This one is a beaut! Love it!
You took the words right out of my mouth Loll....I have really missed making Autumn cards too! I just got the new SU "Vintage Leaves" stamp set. The die cuts are on backorder, but would be ok to fussy cut. I may have to squeak in a couple cards before Thanksgiving. The images are very detailed with veins and shading. Will be fun to play with I'm sure. I LOVED your die cut watercolored leaf, splatters, text background and beautiful sentiment. So you and soooo perfect! TFS my friend.
You've captured a real autumn leaf beautifully here, Loll ... love how it really pops against the text background! Hugs, Anita :)
Beautifully watercoloured and spattered leaf, Loll! The text paper is the perfect backdrop, and I love how the brown strip anchors the sentiment.
Your leaf looks so realistic! I love how you blended the autumn colors and your DSP for your background is the perfect touch! Another stunning card, Loll!
I love autumn because it's so full of color and so is your beautiful leaf, Loll.
OOH! the fall cards were very few and far between for me this year, too! What a wonderful farewell to fall you've made here! The text paper is the perfect backdrop to that colorful, REALISTIC maple leaf and the inclusion of the brown strip at the bottom-- just perfect design! I think you may be converting me to the CAS look! Hugs!
I feel as you do; autumn slips away before I have opportunity to embrace it fully, both outdoors and as a card-making season. I'm sure I can count on one hand the number of fall cards I made..sighh! Your card is gorgeous, Loll...a piece of a season that, although past, is much loved...
hugs~c
