Missing Autumn

Hi everyone.  Autumn is coming to a close and I realized that I have made very few autumn cards this year.  They are one of my favourites to make, second only to Christmas cards. The time has been a busy one for me and the season has just slipped away.  But before it's gone, I'm going to share this CAS card I made a little while ago, but haven't had time to blog until now. :)

This is a super simple card.  I die-cut the maple leaf from watercolour paper and sponged with red, orange and yellow inks (just randomly over the leaf).  Then I spritzed with water to let the inks blend.  Once dry, I splattered with a little diluted brown ink.  Simple design that was easy to make.

I mounted the leaf onto a piece of text DSP, adding a stamped sentiment at the bottom in brown.  I felt it needed just a little something more, so cut a small strip of the same colour of brown card stock to add to the bottom to ground my panel.

  4. Love this card, it really is eye catching. I've never goten into Autumn cards I suppose cause when I see all this beauty from overseas we are celebrating Spring. But maybe next year I should give it a go, as there are so many pretty leaf dies available now. Better get moving and finish off somemore tags as well before you lock it down :)

  13. You took the words right out of my mouth Loll....I have really missed making Autumn cards too! I just got the new SU "Vintage Leaves" stamp set. The die cuts are on backorder, but would be ok to fussy cut. I may have to squeak in a couple cards before Thanksgiving. The images are very detailed with veins and shading. Will be fun to play with I'm sure. I LOVED your die cut watercolored leaf, splatters, text background and beautiful sentiment. So you and soooo perfect! TFS my friend.

  19. I feel as you do; autumn slips away before I have opportunity to embrace it fully, both outdoors and as a card-making season. I'm sure I can count on one hand the number of fall cards I made..sighh! Your card is gorgeous, Loll...a piece of a season that, although past, is much loved...
