Embossing with Uncoloured Images
Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing another Heat Embossed card as a reminder that the CAS Mix Up May Challenge - Heat Embossing is closing in a few days.
The panel above started with randomly heat embossing some script background (I do love this background!). :) Colour was then added over top of the embossing using the acetate smooshing technique with Distress Inks (Twisted Citron and Broken China). Love the subtle colours paired with the embossed script.
I also heat embossed a few butterflies and then fussy cut them out. I didn't colour them this time, instead leaving just the embossed liquid platinum as the colour. This is all because of my friend Maria and her post she did about the "illustrated" style and a new trend of having the focal images uncoloured. Not my usual, but I gave this a try and have to say that I really like how this turned out. :) Thanks Maria!
It's so easy to make a CAS Mix Up card ... my card has stamping, heat embossing, and acetate smooshing. Still lots of open space, which is the CAS (clean and simple) part of the challenge.
I hope you'll come play along with our May challenge at CAS Mix Up. There's still a few days left to play along The challenge closes end of day May 24th (PDT).
Thanks for stopping by!

This is so pretty ...... great colour combo. I love the embossed script in the background and the butterflies look so elegant without any colour. xx

WOW. This is so gorgeous.
Loll your card is absolutely gorgeous! I love every detail and what to try it. Did you emboss both the sentiment and the butterflies with the Liquid Platnum? I have an unopened jar itching to be tried out! Have a wonderful day!
Just Gorgeous! Totally Gorgeous!!
Talk about elegant! This is magnificent, Loll! Love the soft wash using acetate smooshing, a personal favorite and the script background! The uncolored butterflies are SO perfect! What more can I say! This card is the epitome of class!

I so adore this card and it's light and airy feel! Spectacular!
Very beautiful, Loll! I just love the "pop" of non-color, AND that beautiful script!!! Love it!
How gorgeous, Loll ... the light delicacy of the butterflies is beautiful against the softly smooshed panel ... fantastic! Hugs, Anita :)
Oh. So. Elegant! Incredible with just that minimal touch of color!
Gorgeous card, Loll! I love how you've showcased the details on the butterflies with gold embossing, and how you created the soft, watercolored background with your DI's! Stunning CAS design, too!
It's gorgeous! The delicacy of the DI smooshing shows nicely since you've left the embossed butterflies 'neutral'. Oh this is SO pretty and the color choices look so nice with the platinum shine. Will check out the video, TFS. Hugs
Stunning with the soft colors and the embossing!
Oh Loll, this is so soft and gorgeous!! I love the embossed, scripty background and the sweet uncolored butterflies really make a lovely statement together. Beautifully done!!
This is beautiful Loll! the soft touches of color and gold embossing on white - lovely!
