Hi everyone. I have really enjoyed playing with the shaving cream marbling technique and made some more. I now have a good stash of backgrounds to use for future cards. Just a reminder that CAS Mix Up September Challenge - is Marbling.
This time when I did the marbling, I only added a few drops of re-inker into the shaving cream. I pulled a few prints that were pretty dark. I wanted softer colours, so instead of adding more re-inkers as I did before, I added a little more shaving cream on top and spread it out with a spatula before pulling my next couple of prints. This time I ended up with light marbling backgrounds with lots of white. Happy with the results.
I took one of my backgrounds and die-cut the pretty leaf sprig from Penny Black. I placed it over a smooshed background made from the same colours of ink. It may be hard to tell that the leaf is from marbled paper, but it is. :)
This card has happily made it's way across the world to Scotland. Thanks again Mac!
Just to show you the full effect, below is a second card made with the leftover piece from the die-cut above. This time I used the marbled effect for the background, adding a die-cut leaf from a beautiful sprayed piece I received from my friend Mary. Thanks Mary! The colours are perfect together. :)
I hope you have joined in our CAS Mix Up September Challenge - Marbling. If you haven't yet, give marbling a try. It's lots of fun ... and a little messy. What could be better??!! :)
Thanks for stopping by.

I love the colors and pattern you've got with this marbled piece, Loll! I love the soft colors of the first and the brighter second card is equally as beautiful! That piece from Mary is the perfect color!
beautiful cards Loll - guess i'm going to have to buy some shaving cream - maybe i can find some unscented stuff - last time i did i couldn't stand the smell that it left on the card!
I love the shaving foam technique and you made some stunning creations with it
Anne
Oh my God! How beautiful!
Big hugs,

Beautiful, beautiful! I love the softer background and think I will try that next time with only using 2 colors (instead of 4) and adding a little more shaving cream. And I love the die cut leaves on both cards too! :0)
Loll, love the soft marbling colors. Beautiful card.
What beautiful cards Loll - love your marbling and I am always amazed with the results you achieve and how you use them.
Blessings
Maxine
OMG Loll, Love your marbled leaf and marbled background. Your soft marbled designs are so beautiful and your CAS designs so perfect for the challenge. TFS my friend. Hugs, Nancy
Love both cards - great use of the piece of marbled cs to get both a background and a die cut leaf. Lovely variations on a theme!
awesome marbling Loll. both the cards are fabulous
amazing card.
These are beautiful Loll ... I love the soft colours and I do like your tip about adding more shaving foam. Have a lovely weekend xx
You are a master of this technique - both cards are perfectly lovely.
You use that die often and I've always loved it so I finally bought it. Don't be surprised to see me use it in a card for the September challenge.
Oh fabulous colours Loll, I think Peacock Feather is my very favourite colour and it goes so beautifully with the Peeled Paint. I love them both but the background on the second one does have more definition where the leaves on the first are softer, but both really pretty and elegant. x
Both of these are so lovely, Loll - I especially like the one where you used the "marbled " die cut also. I had fun trying this technique a bit ago (my husband came home when I was in the middle and was pretty shocked at the big mess I was in the middle of- :) ), and so I thank you for the challenge! I entered the challenge and hope to do one more.
How excited to see 'My' thank you card on your post today......I am on holiday with limited internet access but wanted to let everyone now how marvellous this card is......looks amazing on line but fantastic in real life. How lucky am I to own a Loll original? Thank you so very much xxxxx
These are both so dreamy and delicate, Loll ... just beautiful! Hugs, Anita :)
Two really beautiful cards, Loll! I am loving the marbling effect, and both sets of leaves are amazing!
So pretty! I really like that first one with the frame. Love the dimension and the beautiful, calming colors.
