Hi everyone. Today is the start of the CAS Watercolour November Challenge. Not only are we starting our second challenge, but we are also welcoming some new design team members. We are thrilled to welcome Karen Dunbrook (Snippets) and Harriet Skelly (Ally Cat Cards) to the CAS Watercolour Team. And we're so happy that Nancy Littrell (scandinancy creates) and Susan Bridgman (Cardmaker's Garret) from CAS Mix Up will be joining us as well. I'm excited about working with all of you ... we are going to have FUN!! :)
On to the challenge ...
(other than a sentiment)
I ended up with three cards to share with you today. :)
I started by smooshing peacock feathers and twisted citron distress inks onto a piece of mixed media paper. After adding a couple of layers of colours, I stamped script randomly in the background. I then stamped the flower image in versamark, heat embossed in white and watercoloured the flowers.
I wasn't happy that the white embossing didn't seem to show up much on the watercoloured background, so I took more citron ink and a wet brush and added in more colour along the stems. Much better! I cut the piece in half and made two CAS Watercoloured cards. Great way to build my stash! :)
Here's the second card ...
Remember to keep your cards CAS (Clean and Simple) with Watercolouring and include text (other than a sentiment).
Stamps: Softly (Penny Black); Script (Penny Black); Heartfelt Thanks (Penny Black); A Little Sentimental (Clearly Besotted)
Paper: White card base (Neenah 110 lb.); Mixed media paper (Strathmore 140 lb.)
Ink: Distress Inks: Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron (Tim Holtz); Versamark
Accessories & Tools: Liquid platinum embossing powder (Ranger); White embossing powder (Ranger), heat tool, water mister, paint brush

All three cards are beautiful Loll and those two colours of Distress ink look gorgeous together. The added script looks great, and the flower is so delicate and pretty and such lovely colouring. Both the white and platinum embossing work well. x

ReplyDeleteI love all 3! The platinum embossing does look a bit richer, but I like the subtle white embossing very much too.
