Hi everyone. We're already over half way through December. Just a reminder about the CAS Watercolour's December Challenge this month ...
I've had this background stamp for AGES but think it's the first time being inked up. Always good to use a NBUS item (a la Darnell). :)
I actually removed it from the wood base that it came with and added a cling sponge base so I could use it in my Misti. The thing about intricate background stamps (or large stamps) is that they don't always ink evenly. I think it helped. Still a few little bare spots, but looks good.
I stamped this onto mixed media paper with versamark ink and heat embossed with white. Once cool, I lightly sprayed with water. Three small random dots each of Ripe Persimmon re-inker and Picked Raspberry re-inker were added over top, then misted with more water until the colours flowed. I let it air dry and then cut down my panel. It's a busy pattern, so I opted to leave it plain, just adding a simple die-cut sentiment.

Fabulous card Loll and I love this large pattern and the great contrast with the black die cut sentiment on top as you say is all it needs to shine. x
Wow...what a beautiful heat embossed swirl background, Loll. Love how you added drops of DI ink and spritzed with water to make your ink flow. A beautiful artsy effect my friend. TFS Hugs, Nancy
Those colors are so gorgeous :) beautiful as always
Gorgeous! Love the vibrant colours, Loll.
You always do such a spectacular job of blending watercolor, Loll! I love how your colors are intense in the center and soften near the edges. What a gorgeous effect!
A very unusual design using your favorite colors of the coral & magneta shades. Love those deep white swirls and the bold black of the sentiment. Great idea to unmount this pretty background so it can be used with the misti.TFS
What a beautiful background pattern, Loll! I LOVE the colors and the movement! WOW!
This is SO pretty Loll! I love the way the colors blended together with the water, and your simple die cut sentiment is just perfect for this lovely, lovely card!! :0)
Beautiful example of an emboss resist! Love the way you just allowed the colours to flow - I find it hard to do that as I always want to control it!

Love this card with the bright colors and black sentiment. Great coloring!!
I love that you let your reinkers wander with reckless abandon, Lolly, and they performed beautifully! It is the personification of the word "hugs!" (Thank you for the shoutout and for using your NBUS!!) Happy Holiday hugs, Dolly
What a wonderful card Loll - the re-inker colouring and the simple sentiment really let the design come to life

Another great technique, Loll - I'm adding it to my list of " to try". What a pretty bg this made and I would not have guessed that it didn't even involve a paintbrush!! Thanks for noticing my card on splitcoast where I used your technique for alcohol inks - I had such fun and have several papers left to create with!!!
Very elegant with beautiful colours xxx
