I did try something new with using some cheap paintbrushes (from the $1 store) to move the ink around a bit before adding more colour on top. I soaked the brushes in rubbing alcohol afterwards and they came clean, so I'm going use them again with my next AI landscape card.
I finished by stamping some branches over top And I stamped the sentiment in black and heat embossed in clear so that it was shiny and matched the shininess of the alcohol inks on Yupo. I would have liked to have used black embossing powder but I couldn't find mine. :)
The landscape panel was popped up on foam for a bit of dimension.

ReplyDeleteYou are a PRO when it comes to AI! This is a piece of art and should be framed, in loooove!😍
ReplyDeleteThis IS beautiful, Loll.

My understanding is that alcohol inks are difficult to control.

Your alcohol ink techniques are quite striking and totally beautiful, Loll. This is anther winner in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing and it appears you have no issues with control at all! Love the effect and the random movement of the ink. This is gorgeous, Loll!
ReplyDeleteOh this is gorgeous Loll. The landscape scene looks fabulous to me.
ReplyDeleteThe brushes must have done the trick, Loll, because this is a wonderful landscape.
ReplyDeleteWow...your AI background reminds me of a stormy winter sky. I love your silhouette stamped brush too. I think it makes a wonderful sympathy card my friend. I have not tried a paint brush to move Alcohol ink around. I have used a coffee stirrer with good results. Sometimes a q-tip works too, especially for pooled ink. TFS your beauty my friend. Hugs.....
ReplyDeleteWow! You are really good at these scene with the ink Loll!!! It looks just like an evening sky. Love it!!! I'm going to have to try it out, but I doubt I will have the success that you have! lol I am really in love and in awe with this. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWOW! It looks like you have perfect control of these inks, Loll! What a beautiful landscape! WOW!
ReplyDeleteI'll echo Bonnie: WOW! The sky looks perfectly done to me, but thanks for the brush movement tip. Your stamping of the brambles turned out so sharp & crisp. My stamping on the H20 (using a wood stamp) didn't do so well. I really LOVE this look. As usual, WELL DONE! so glad you are feeling up to stamping and experimenting now! TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeletelove the mix of blue and purple for the sky it looks like the red sky at night :)

ReplyDeleteWow, this is amazing! What a gorgeous sky!
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely beautiful! You are doing an amazing job with the alcohol inks.
ReplyDeleteLoll this turned out beautifully. I took a class a couple of years ago using Yupo and the AI. Our instructor had us buy 91% Isopropyl Alcohol instead of using blending solution. I bought my at Wal-Green. I just scored and got a pad of Yupo with about 2/3 of it in there for five bucks from my local stamping store. I have enjoyed seeing your new creations.
ReplyDeleteStunning landscape! And the colours are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt's stunning Loll. Great job with the inky background and the stamped foreground. xxx

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, Loll, this is a stunner ... the colours are so rich and deep ... seems I could just plunge into this landscape ... gorgeous! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI think this is a lovely scene. You have captured the look of a landscape and your branches are perfect with this.
ReplyDeleteDo you buy your YUPO locally? I live in Langley and have not seen it in our local stores. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place...
You had much better success with the alcohol inks than I did! LOL! Love the branches over the inking. Did you have to stamp the branches with Stazon?
ReplyDeleteHi Susan. I don't have your email address, so hope you check back for an answer to your question. :)
DeleteI used Ranger Archival ink. It's similar to Stazon in that it is permanent (waterproof) ink. You need to use that type of ink over Alcohol ink backgrounds. Loll :)
