Hi everyone. We are in the middle of a snow storm. It's been snowing steady the past two days and there's at least 8" accumulated. I love looking out at the snow falling ... it's so peaceful and beautiful with everything covered in white. I'm lucky that I don't have to be out in it. Snow days means more time for me in the studio. :)
Today I made the card above. Very simple card using a background coloured piece that I had in my stash. This background was made from leftover ink, sopped up with a paper towel, and then transferred onto watercolour paper. I love the way the quilted design of the paper towel adds so much interest to the colours. :) I've used left over paper towels to make another background for a card HERE, if you want to take a look.
I simply die-cut the loon for my card front, popped it over the coloured background and stamped a simple sentiment. The lake loon die is a NBUS item from my stash, so I'm heading over to join in the fun at Darnell's NBUS #10 challenge that closes tomorrow. I didn't use the optional theme this time. :)

That die is sooooooo cool! Looks fab with your beautiful green background.
How did I miss this gorgeous die on my last GMarie order? Love this die, and it's marvelous used with your textured background. The colors are wonderful with this particular die too! Glad you had the snow to inspire your creativity!! TFS & Hugs.
This is beautiful, Loll.
looks awesome against the blue green paper towel background. I'm going to have to get some BG's off you and save for the future :)
Gorgeous paper towel watercolour background Loll for your Stunning lake loon die cut frame! I think your die cut loon would make a really cool balloon too. Love your card. Stay warm and safe in your studio my friend. We have had 3" of rain and lots of wind since yesterday and expecting much more tonight and tomorrow. This has been quite the Winter for all of us.
TFS your cheerful beauty my friend. Hugs...
I love that loon frame, Loll against yet another of your gorgeous backgrounds. Also loved your paper towel technique! That tiny texture adds so much to it. This is exceptionally beautiful due to that wonderful die.
Beautiful use of the loon die - it looks perfect with the paper towel background. Love the bit of texture the paper towel adds. Lovely colours too.
Oh wow, this is such a beautiful card. I love the colours of your background. The design is fabulous.
Beautiful bg and the overall look of this card is so peaceful and calming, love it!
Such a gorgeous card. Enjoy the snow..I love it but it causes such havoc over here in the UK xx
What a beautiful card! Nice way to spend time during a snow storm. We call snow "free insulation."

I love the imprint of paper towel on the card. That is so inventive and a good way to reuse the inks. This is such a peaceful scene with those soft colors and sweet die. A wonderful card to make with 8" of snow on the ground!
SO beautiful, love the background.

What a gorgeous die, and it looks beautiful against your coloured backgroundo xx
WOW...GORGEOUS card Loll and I love that die cut! I have a similar one I just bought and need to get out and use...thanks for the inspiration! Stay warm and have fun playing in your studio while the snow flies!! :0)
This is a beautiful card Loll! I love those backgrounds you get from using your paper towel that have sopped up ink in them. Amazing to me how the ink transfers back onto watercolor cardstock. We haven't gotten any "real" snow storms yet this year. Some dusting of snow and some ice messes. Still early enough to get a blizzard though. We had a blizzard in 93 in March! I too, love to watch the snow gently falling with no traffic going. It's so beautiful and serene. Enjoy your creative time! Hugs, Brenda
Lake Loon has me in a swoon! Fab card Loll and perfect background behind. Wow 8ins of snow, rather you than me :)

Fun card Loll. I like the technique and the die. When we lived in the mountains, 5 years ago, I loved the first snow when everything was pristine and not touched by man.
Oh, how pretty, Loll! I love your new die cut, and your background is gorgeous! It's amazing what we get with leftover ink, and you've managed to create a beautiful water scene!
Beautiful, Loll.
Such a pretty die... and background. X
Gorgeous background - perfect for this lovely die!
I love the look of this background technique...the texture of the paper towel shows so clearly on the inky paper.
Beautiful card, Loll.
Oh what a gorgeous card Loll - love your background, and the die cuts are wonderful

Beautiful card, Loll.
So beautiful and serene, Loll.
Such a pretty card, Loll! That background is beautiful. The texture from the paper towel is fantastic. And the die...swoon. I love the sound of loons and this takes me back to when I visited MN. And when I watched On Golden Pond. Aging myself there. LOL Beautiful work! :)
This is CAS beauty at its best. I love your backgrounds and am amazed at all the cards you took me back to. Loved the coral pink with the black flowers. What a brilliant idea to reuse the kitchen towels. Who knew our waste bins could be so productive. Hugs Mrs A.
Wonderful card, Loll. So lovely.

I'm sure sales of that die have sky-rocketed, Lolly! It is now on my list to add to my NBUS! What an excellent way to use snippets of Brusho work, whether direct to paper or by sopping! It is an excellent manly card!! Thank you very much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #10! Hugs, Dolly ~ enjoy that snow, if its still there! (Maybe now its ugly and brown. I used to hate when it got like that and all the pretty part was gone.)
