What better flower to celebrate summer than a bright and cheerful sunflower. I love this stencil that I got from my dear friend, Bonnie. I have used it many times, and each time I find a different way to use it. :) This time I used it with Lemon Yellow and Light Brown Brushos. Even just using those two colours, you can see all the other colour pigments there are in the powders. I sprinkled the Brushos over the stencil, sprayed with lots of water, and quickly removed the stencil. Let it sit for a bit and then lightly blotted with paper towel. A simple stamped sentiment finishes the card.
I'm entering this card at Time Out (Challenge #84 - Flowers and friends make life a garden").

Lovely bright sunflower - perfect for summer! The brushos worked beautifully for this one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, bright cards today, Loll. What a great stencil to use with the Brushos. What's funny is that I just saw that you have a tab for your recipes and I just saw it for the first time. They look delicious and when I'm in a cooking mood, I'll have to check them more closely. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite stencils too! I love the different colors in those 2 Brushos! Bright and summery. A happy card, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThis is glorious, Loll! I can't get over the wonderful impressions you achieve with stencils and wet techniques! This is such a cheerful card!
ReplyDeleteYou created a real spring sun, Loll. Yellow color is so fresh, bright that it reminds me more of the spring sun. The one that energizes and warms up. Great card, very optimistic.

Oh my, Loll...glorious, as is the sunshine we are having here in the Northwest!! I love this stencil and am thinking of getting it...we'll see. You always do a perfect job with stencils.
ReplyDeleteLove your Brushos with your sunflower stencil, Loll. What a wonderful way to show off the different pigment powders that are in a single color of Brushos. This stencil is one of my very favorites too. Bonnie really started this sunflower craze :-) TFS my friend. Hugs...

ReplyDeleteNothing better to lift your spirits than looking into the face of a giant sunflower, for real or on a card. This one is so lovely, Loll, and what control you have with the Brushos. I should try using them with stencils.
ReplyDeleteWish the rain would stop here for a bit or at lease slack off some! lol Our spring and I suspect our summer is going to be just like our winter, warm temps and cooler temps cause that is how it has been going so far! One week we will be summer and the next back to cool spring temps. Crazy weather for sure! I am totally in love with this card Loll and with that stencil as well!!! lol I love all the different looks you can get from one stencil. You are so talented my friend! Hugs, Brenda
