I took some diluted white acrylic paint and painted over all the stenciling. It wasn't until the last one that I realized it would have been quicker to add the cleaned stencil over top before painting the white. Always learning. :)

Thanks for the tip on the Alcohol inks bleeding...didn't know that either and I am surprised too. What a glorious collection of cards. The backgrounds are amazing and love the white embossing against them. Great collection of Christmas cards and good idea to make two of each. Had a chuckle about you painting on the white acrylic and not using the stencil....I would have done the same. Yes isn't it fun learning? Thanks for the wonderful inspiration Loll x

All of these are just GORGEOUS Loll, and I love the idea of just painting over the embossed paste that had the bleeding...definitely need to try this out!! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! :0)

Each one of these is gorgeous, Loll! I think the white paint made the embossing stand out even more beautifully! You've done a fantastic job of hitting the mark if you didn't put the stencil back over it. I'm sure I would have had a big splotch somewhere!

Your backgrounds are so striking, Loll! I love how you played with all the different colors and your stencils are just beautiful! I would have never thought to place the stencil over the panel again, too...great minds...or is it 'old' minds? Gorgeous collection of cards, as always!
These backgrounds are stunning; as are your previous backgrounds using Yupo paper and alcohol inks. I have tried using shiny photograph paper with alcohol inks and acetate "paper" with alcohol inks. Both seem to take a lot of alcohol blending solution or Gamsol to achieve interesting blends and swirls. Both are quite expensive, and I'm not sure I like them much better than using shaving cream and dye inks. If I invest in Yupo paper do you think I will be amazed with the results?

Hi Bobbie. Yupo does react differently than other papers. But I also get good results with alcohol inks on acetate. Years ago I used glossy paper and it worked too. Not as good as yupo, though. I've heard photograph paper is also good, but haven't tried it myself. I wish I could email you directly, but I don't have your address. I'm so glad you get the kinks out of these techniques for us, Loll. I definitely want to try some paste over AI, and I need to get more inks so I have different colors to work with.
