For the card above, I used mixed media paper and brushos (orange, terracotta and rose red) for colouring my paper. I sprinkled salt over top and let the card front air dry. Then I brushed off the salt to reveal the artsy background above.
I die-cut these beautiful flower stems with a penny black die that I received as a gift from my dear friend, Bonnie! This is called "Shall we dance" ... the flowers really do look like they are dancing. I used Brushos again to colour the die-cuts (cut from more mixed media paper). This time I used just a little Terracotta and lots of Rose Red so the colours are deeper than the background.
I popped up a simple white frame over my background and tucked the stems under the frame to secure them, along with a few small drops of glue. I stamped my sentiment in Barn Door distress ink ... it matches pretty well, I think. And for the final detail, I added some Crystal Clear YNS Gumdrops to the center of each flower. They are glittery, but it doesn't really show in the photos.

Brilliant card, super design. I love the effect of the salt on the background. xx
Love that background with the salt, as it looks like more flowers have bloomed. Another great technique for me to learn. Great colours and love how you've stamped the sentiment in the barn door too. Gorgeous card x
Loll, I Love your Gorgeous salt background using your Brushos and salt. I love the color. Adding your die cut and painted flowers with a deeper more red shade of ink is the perfect contrast. Your sentiment and gumdrops are a wonderful final addition. TFS my friend. Hugs
How VERY VERY pretty, a beautiful background.

Loll, you achieved wonderful blooms of colour on your salted background! Perfect with the deeper red flowers over top - and yes, the Barn Door ink is a perfect match for the sentiment. A beautiful card!
OMG your salt crystal effect is gorgeous. I'll have to try with mixed media paper to see if there's a difference. Love the reds and pinks :)
Your watercolor background with salt looks WOW! I love how the color has gathered around the crystals of salt creating these unique spots. Beautiful colors, adding flowers in the same tone makes the card very elegant!
Hugs, my Friend.

What a fantastic background, my friend! I love the way the kosher salt reacted to the Brusho watercolor! And those flowers are so rich looking against the background and the white frame!
Stunning, Loll. I have been admiring your watercoloring, but using salt today's card is just stunning!! Love it. Enjoy your day!
I love seeing your work with color and this is no exception. What a rich, saturated color you achieved and love that the blossoms are a shade deeper. I'm also amazed that you were able to stamp so perfectly with distress inks. I have not been able to get that clarity that you achieved on your sentiment Of course that could be because my pads are 6-7 years old.
This is gorgeous - love the unpredictability of the salt technique
Loll, I love the red in your card. That is a color I have such a hard time working in. Yours is beautiful!
Oh Loll you never cease to amaze me with your eye for colour and detail - this is stunning with the red die cut over the 'artzy' background.
Blessings
