I'm adding these to the CAS Watercolour gallery. The challenge this month is "salt".
I actually did two pieces, the one above with deep blues and purple, and another with turquoise and blue. I cut both pieces in half to create four backgrounds and then made them into the same design. Great way to create four quick and easy Christmas cards. :)
Here's a picture of the turquoise one ...
I hope you'll join us at CAS Watercolour for this fun challenge.

Gorgeous effect with the watercolour and salt, Loll!
Gorgeous colours on both of your fabulous cards. The salt effect is so unique. Love the white die cuts against those glorious backgrounds x
Love the look of these cards....plus they seem quick and easy to do and 4 at a time...purr-fect!
Gorgeous results again Loll .... love the colours of blue xx
Love this card with the beautiful background. The blue is perfect.
Love both of these colorways. Think I might find the darker contrast my fav though! Beautiful TFS &Hugs
The backgrounds turned out beautiful using the salt. Love the clean and crisp design with the white tree in contrast to your rich colors! Great idea for four quick cards too. Can't do Christmas cards fast enough.
So sweet and beautiful with your Brushos and salt sky backgrounds, Loll. I may be CASE'ing your CAS design:-) TFS my friend. Hugs...
Both of your salty backgrounds look stunning against all that snowy white, Lolly! I can't wait to try salting when we get home! I did that cut-into-fours approach when I did your tissue-paper technique and think I'll be doing it a lot in the future! Hope you're feeling better! Hugs, Dolly
My first thought was what a beautiful, rich blue! But then I saw the turquoise and that is equally as pretty! Beautifully thought out and put together!
Love both colour versions! Great layout too - love the stitched tree and snow!
Both colours are so pretty, I'm really making note of the multiple card tip. I need so many Christmas cards :)
The salt does create some beautiful results and all different of course. A great layout for Christmas cards most of which need to be fairly quick to produce if you need lots.
Love that deep, rich blue Loll my friend! The salt has made it look like a snowy sky! The crisp white against it really pops! LOVE it! Have a great day! Love & Hugs. Hazel xx

Absolutely stunning Loll! I really love the effect of the salt on your Brushos background! I have to try it ! And these blues are fantastic and so beautifully highlighted with your fabulous white design ! Thanks so much for sharing and for inspiring! x
Simply gorgeous, Loll ... the sense of dimension created in the background from the salt is brilliant ... and those rich blues are fabulous with the crisp frosty white! Hugs, Anita :)
The effect of the salt is so neat, Loll! You've created some beautiful cards. I just love the crispness of the white against that wonderful background. Thanks for the tip to get four cards! Awesome! Hugs!
Beautiful cards Loll and now that I think I've got the hang of using salt, I will definitely be using this technique again and again...love the look!! :0)
This technique makes great frosty backgrounds, perfect for your snow covered hills and trees! How awesome that you were able to make four cards at once because Christmas is coming closer (and I should get my act together...)!
Absolutely stunning cards, the list of new techniques to try gets longer every time I visit your blog...not that I'm complaining they are wonderful. When I get my act together and actually try some of those on the list (planning the tissue one first) I will definitely be stealing your idea for cutting a background into 4 as I desperately need to up my christmas card production ;)
Keep the wonderful inspiration coming !
Hugs Kaz xx
Wonderful cards Loll - those salt backgrounds are fascinating - I must have another 'go' - it's years since I used that technique.
Blessings
Maxine
Oh my gosh it's beautiful! I'll definitely be doing this technique again
Beautiful cards! Love the backgrounds and how they pop on all the white.
Beautiful card, love the salt background, think I need to get my inks out and get messy. Gail xx
very sweet card...love your salt results.
xx Karen
I love the contrast between the white tree and the snow and this amazing color background on both cards. Salt did a great job of grouping the color. And I'm talking a tree of such soft shapes. Wonderful cards.
Hugs,
BożenA
Very sweet & uplifting snowy scenes, Loll! The salt effects really look like snowfall. I love both blue backgrounds! Hideko
