CASEing Linda

Hi everyone.  Today's card is a CASE of a card made by my dear friend, Linda (Life in the Craft Lane).  Linda is so talented and loves to play with all kinds of different mixed media products.  I have learned so much for her over the past three years. Thank you Linda!!


I loved the soft colours of her alcohol ink background.  Most of my AI backgrounds tend to be very bright and bold.  This time I used a different colour combination which included a few softer colours.  I love how it turned out.  I heat embossed my image in gold (same as Linda), and also stamped the sentiment so that it was across the main panel and the card base.  It turned out great and I love this design detail. The hard part was photographing it so that the word "smile" looked lined up.  It is lined up in real life, but the camera does love to play tricks. :)

I know that it's a no-no to heat emboss Yupo, but I just did quick passes over top of the stamping with my heat tool so that the yupo didn't buckle.  It takes a little bit of time, but worked well.

    Fabulous CASE of Linda's gorgeous card. Yes I enjoy Linda's amazing talent too. Your card is so pretty and delicate and love the colours of the inks. I haven't tried to heat yuppo but will give it a go next time x

    LOVE your pretty softer colors of alcohol ink, Loll. They made such a beautiful background for your heat embossed wildflowers and sentiment. Love the angle of your sentiment. Love Linda's card too. I have been following Linda for a couple of years and love how she uses so many different mixed media products and techniques too. TFS your beauty too my friend. Hugs..

    You always achieve such a beautiful marbled effect with alcohol inks instead of the blobs I tend to get with the metallic. This is so beautiful and love the sentiment partially stamped and embossed off the panel. That is not easy to do with a layer on there!

    Beautiful work, Loll! You achieve some really wonderful backgrounds in colors that are so pleasing to the eye. Then you add a simple silhouette that just adds beauty to the piece. I so enjoy your artistry! Have a wonderful weekend. :)

    WOW! What a fabulous CASE Loll .... I love it!
    You always work wonders with alcohol inks and get great effects. I love the colour mix here and the stamped flower looks so delicate.

    Love the soft colors of your background! I also associate AI backgrounds with bright colors but really like how this came out! That combined with the gold embossed flower and sentiment sliding off the background make this card fabulous!

    I have such a picture in my head when the colors in the water mix together, creating amazing smudges of fog of color ( in Polish niesamowite smugi mgły koloru). Your background is taken out of my memories of this image. Is it a mystery to me as you enter my head Loll? Beautiful, airy, stunning card.
