I used another "throw-away" piece of foil that I use to protect my work table when working with alcohol inks. I just loved the colours left over on the foil, so used it to make this bright and shiny tag background. I mounted the foil onto a piece of card stock, adhering with glue. Once dry, it was dry embossed with a snowflakes folder to add lots of texture.
A simple white die-cut of snow hill and trees was added on top, and the sentiment was stamped and heat embossed in silver. The silver adds bling (along with the shine from the foil).
A dotty stamp was used to add interest on the card base, again heat embossed in silver. The main panel was popped up for added dimension.
Stamps: Festive Snippets (Penny Black); Gorgeous Grunge (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Aluminum Foil; White card stock (Neenah 110 lb.)
Ink: Alcohol inks from Ranger; Versamark
Accessories & Tools: Snowflakes embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Tree Line die (Impression Obsession), silver embossing powder, heat tool

Merry Monday Challenge #257 - Tag (+texture+bling+die-cuts)
Spectacular, Loll ... what a stunning, texture-y background ... so gorgeous with all that glorious white! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI love this card! That's not regular aluminum foil is it? ??? It looks quite a bit more sturdy.
ReplyDeleteDo I need special foil paper to do something similar?
(I hope your answer is that, yes - it IS regular foil...)
The dotty stamp really pulls it all together!
YES!! :) It is just regular aluminum foil. I have glued it down to a piece of card stock to make it sturdy before dry embossing with the snowflakes.
ReplyDeleteClever, clever - I'm doing it! :)
DeleteThank you and have a great day!
Fabulous.

Wow!!! I am so glad I have saved several pieces of alcohol ink on foil scraps after seeing your Amazingly Gorgeous dry embossed background!!! Your CAS design turned out beautifully! TFS and always inspiring me my friend. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteWow Loll - just adore the foil tag with the snowy scene!! So great with embossed dots behind! So glad you could play along with us at Merry Monday!!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty, Loll. I saved my tin foil after using alcohol ink also. I gently scrunched it up and then flattened it some. Then I ran it through the Big Shot which flattened it lots more and made it look like a snow frosted window. I'll try your embossed method next. I think I like the tin foil as much as the Yupo designs.
ReplyDeleteWOW....your foil background is FABULOUS Loll! Good thing you save your scraps as this is just STUNNING...love it!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at Merry Monday!! :0)
