Hi everyone. Today I'm sharing a card with a background I made quite a while ago. It's done on coated card stock that my friend Christine gave me. It's a very thick card stock with a sort of plastic finish. The ink doesn't absorb into the paper, instead it sits on top. I think that's why I got such a wonderful finish with the Cling Wrap technique.
I first used spray starch over my card stock, then sprinkled with a few shades of Brushos. I took a piece of cling wrap that was larger than my card, placed it on top and moved the colours around with my hands and then firmly pressed the cling wrap down. I left it overnight, but I understand about 30 mins. will do. I love how the creases leave such a beautiful pattern.
I heat embossed my trees image in white embossing powder, added a die-cut snow hill and stamped the sentiment in bright blue.
This will be my last post until the new year.
I want to thank all of you for supporting me over the past year. I appreciate your visits, and always appreciate hearing from you either through comments or email.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Holiday Season. Merry Christmas!
Love,

You aren't kidding. That is a wonderful background. [Bunny]

That's a stunning background Loll. It reminds me of the patterns on the singled glazed windows way back! Merry Christmas to you and yours. :)
What a gorgeous and magnificent background, Loll. I'm so glad you are sharing it. The shades and creases are fantastic. And the white just pops so wonderfully. It is truly striking. Oh it just makes me do a happy sigh. Merry Christmas!!

I have loved seeing all your cards over this year. Thanks for all the inspiration you have shared with us. I have a question about this card. What is the purpose for spraying the paper with starch? Thanks for answering. Have a Merry Christmas!
Incredibly beautiful! Wow this is gorgeous! Can't wait til next year to see more, Loll, enjoy your holidays!
Brilliant...great use of cling wrap technique Loll, perfect for your white trees
What a stunning background, perfect backdrop for those frosty looking trees xx
Wow, this is gorgeous Loll, and it has that icy look with the cling film pattern which has been left behind, and the white embossed trees and snow hill really make the vivid blue sing out. I hope you are having a good Christmas and I am looking forward to seeing lots more of your wonderful creations throughout the coming year. x
Hi Annette. The spray starch has a couple of benefits. It adds moisture to activate the watercolour crystals and it has a bit of suspension to keep them contained. You can use brushos with water and cling wrap without the spray starch and it will be lovely, but have a different look. Loll :)
Oh my, that background is absolutely breathtaking! It looks spectacular with these beautiful trees and the snowbank!
Hope your Christmas was wonderful!
Gorgeous bright blue Cling Wrap background for your all white stamped trees and snow bank. Your card really pops my friend. TFS Hugs..
Those trees are magical enough, Loll ... against that awesome background, they're stunning! What a great technique ... love how the cling wrap causes the 'icy shards' in the colour ... puts me in mind of cracked ice in a pond, it's gorgeous! Hugs, Anita :)
wow...stunning Loll...love the look you achieved for this beautiful card.
amazing.
xx Karen

Definitely got an impressive background with this c/s and the cling wrap. This looks like an icy artic landscape behind these frosty white trees. Makes me shiver just to see it. It's just so amazingly beautiful and this tree set looks stunning with the blue ice background! Happy New Year. Hugs & TFS
This one is a show stopper! the colors you achieved are amazing! : )

Holy Moly, Loll. That blue is gorgeous, like a wonderful piece of wrinkled velvet. I forgot about the spray starch when I did my last Brusho/cling wrap foray and they didn't do well. Now I know why.
This is so striking, Loll! Your Brushos and cling wrap created so much texture to this cardstock and the bold blues are just amazing! Another really beautiful card!
I hope Christmas was lovely with your family and that 2018 is filled with happiness and good health!
Wow. This is gorgeous!
This is so beautiful. I love the graphic look that you achieved with the background. Thank you for sharing the details.
