Today I'm sharing two cards that both use the same beautiful die from Penny Black. It's just the right size to fit on something small by cutting off a few leaves, or leaving it full-size so it fills a page. :)
I started by heat embossing script in white across a piece of mixed media paper. I love the randomness as the script didn't stamp perfectly, which makes it even better to me. Then I sprinkled on just a little of the Lindy's Magicals (autumn maple crimson, red hot poker orange, with just a smidge of cattail copper brown). I spritzed lots of water and let the magicals do their own thing. LOVE the result. Die-cut a tag and a simple white die-cut of a sprig (blossoms) that had been cut to size for the tag. The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped in gold pigment ink. :)
For my second card, I created a CAS (clean and simple) Sympathy card. Here's the close-up ...
Even though I used the same colours on both cards, you can see that I used only part of the sprig in white on the first card, and the second card has the full size flower sprig, cut from the same background as the tag in the first card. The tag is solid and carries weight where the second card with just the flower sprig is light and airy over top of the stenciled background.
I hope you'll check out the challenge blog to see all the amazing Blossom Twofer cards by our wonderful Guest Designer, Verna, and the rest of the DT. Then come play along! The challenge is open for two weeks, closing on Mar. 24th. Hope to see you in the gallery!

These are both so beautiful, Loll! The bold, rich colours on the tag really highlight that lovely blossom branch ... and I love how you made the same sprig so delicate and airy against the soft grey stencilling! Gorgeous! Hugs, Anita :)
Fab cards as always Loll! x
Gorgeous, Loll! I thought for sure you were going to say you used alcohol inks...guess I was so wrong! LOL Love the Magicals colors you used. So very pretty. I also really like that you used the die of the background from the first card on the second card. They both look amazing. Thanks so much for sharing and have a joyous weekend!
I thought alcohol inks too. Those colors are stunning and the script background is lovely and really shows up on the sprig. Beautiful twofer.
I've always loved that delicate looking die! The background you've created with the script is phenomenal! The white die on the tag looks so crisp and the subtle stenciling on the sympathy card is the perfect backdrop for the pretty die! Love both of your cards!
Two fab cards Loll, I love it when you can use bits of one to make another card, a real twofer! I think I've cracked the text by removing then adding you back! :)
Your cards are absolutely gorgeous Loll! Thank you for sharing.
Both cards are so very gorgeous and I just love the colors used on them.
These are just stunning, Loll. The colors, first of all, are perfection. I could look at the way the colors swirl all day long! Making a tag with this panel really showcases both the sprig and the colors perfectly. Your sympathy card is so lovely. I love that you went all CAS with it, too. The gray ink behind the sprig really adds so much, without adding too much. You've got this one "just right" in my book. Way to use that same spring in two wonderful ways!! Have a great weekend. xo Bev
These are both stunning, Lolly! I love how you explained the designs so clearly! I am going to CASE the white text over colored background idea and then cutting a die from it, as well. You always have a fantastic eye for the little details and that detail for these designs adds SO much! Thank you for another learning moment!! Hugs, Dolly
So very beautiful, both of your cards Loll. Absolutely love the choice of colours you have used with the magicals....they are so special and what a unique a wonderful effect. CAS perfection x
Both are just gorgeous. At first I didn't realize you had inlaid #1's blossoms - you're really working some magic with Lindy's magicals! TFS & Hugs
That is one of the most beautiful shades of red I have seen! Love the fabulous, marbled effect. This looks like a fine piece of satin. Your second card using the same die is equally as beautiful. I have a hunch I'll be shopping again (sigh.)
Wow..2 Gorgeous and very different Blossom CAS card designs, Loll. I LOVE your die cut flower designs and your beautiful uses of your pretty, shiny Magicals. Stunning! I need to put on my creative cap and play along. TFS and always inspiring all of us. Hugs...
Love the colors!!! how are magicals different from brushos, color bursts and Infusions? They look amazing. Love the subtle gray background!
Wow, beautiful mix. Both are sublime and the colours are truly vibrant, love them both! Those Magicals are just that, magic. So much movement in the first. Beeeeautiful, my friend. xx
Just spent $68 on magicals!! They look a bit like the Illusions but with shimmer. I watched a video!!
Magicals have a shimmer that is amazing. That's the difference between them and Brushos.
:) You won't regret getting them. They are really fun to play with!!
Fabulous twofers, Loll! The colours are gorgeous, so no reason not to use them for both. 😉 Love the script and stencilled backgrounds... gives great depth. I can just imagine how shimmery these are IFL with the magical. Will have to give them a try now that I just bought 6 of them. 😉 xx
Absolutely gorgeous cards, Loll! I love the effects of Lindy's Magicals on your designs and your color palette is so pretty! Beautiful stenciling and lovely details on both cards...WOW! I can't wait to play along :)
Both cards are STUNNING, Loll! I love your Lindy's Magicals and white script background! It's amazingly beautiful. The way you used the pretty die is so clever. It's a great reminder that I can use part of a die. The sponged with light gray background of the 2nd card is perfect for the occasion. Hideko xx
Absolutely beautiful! Both of them!
Both are fabulous, but I especially love the way the Magicals turned out in the first one! I need to play with them some more. The second card is a perfect subdued and simple sympathy card.
These are gorgeous Loll, and such a pretty die cut. The colours look amazing .... I really do need to try these Magicals xx
Loll, when I was first 'finding' my own style of CAS, these sprigs were my go-to, and they've too long been neglected. LOve your cards, and you've also introduced me to Magicals which I'd never seen or heard of before. That's it... I need to come by more often! There is always something beautiful to see... xx

Love, love, love the background of the tag with the contrast of the white flowers, Loll! Makes me want to pull out those Magicals and do some backgrounds. The second card is serene and perfect for a sympathy card! I love those colors for the flowers!
I love the background with the embossed script, Loll. I ran across my script stamp yesterday and now you've inspired me to use it. I also want to use subtle stenciling for backgrounds. It looks fabulous with the blossoms.
two gorgeous cards Loll, the embossed script is so pretty. love the tag, it really pops and the subtle stenciling is awesome.
What absolutely amazing cards Loll - these are breathtaking!
Blessings
Maxine
Two absolutely BEAUTIFUL cards Loll and I'm happy to proudly display the birthday card on my wall in my craft room...SO lovely!! And your Sympathy card is just perfection with the softly stenciled background and the lovely flower/leaf sprig with the script and Magicals...LOVE it!! Beautiful, beautiful cards my friend!! :0)
Your cards are so exciting to me, Loll, because I just got home from the crafting weekend, and Marcia let us all use her Lindy's Magicals! Now seeing your cards just confirms that they are a "need"! I love the contrast between your two cards even though your used the same products. They are both beautiful!
Stylish, elegant, beautiful ... what more can I say! I love them both!
Elaine
These twofer cards are gorgeous Loll and love the contrast between the white blossoms and the prettily coloured tag, and the second card looks great with the blossoms cut from the same coloured piece and the soft grey stencilled background goes perfectly. x
Lovely dual cards! Great inking
Two pure beauties, Loll ! An awesome example on how to use a same die for two totally different cards ! One with a bold background with this beautiful inks blending covered by a classy white sprig and on the contrary, the other one with a wide almost blank background with a delicate patterned sprig. Both of them in a stunning CAS style ! You're a genius and a fabulous inspiration ! x
Two gorgeous designs using this lovely stem Loll! Great color choices and stunning CAS layouts! Julia xx
Oh my goodness Loll! These are truly stunning! I love the added texture of the stencilling behind that stunning die cut. And that gorgeous tag is to die for! I really must get over the nervousness of cutting into the panels I make (I always want to keep them whole, but there is only so much you can do with them before they all start to look the same). I can see by these two beautiful examples that cutting into them can have the effect of giving them even more impact than leaving them whole! Thanks for the inspiration my friend! Love & Hugs. Hazel xx

I love your colorful panel that so incredibly flows in colors. I do not know these Magic inks, but I can only imagine how beautiful they shine and flicker. Thank you for sharing these beautiful cards.
Hugs,

Both are totally FAB0u-LOUS Loll

Both cards are gorgeous!!
Wow, the background to the first card is GORGEOUS! And I love the cleaness of the 2nd card! Thanks for the inspiration! Hugs, Gwendolyn
These are both beautifully crafted! I love how you used the dsp on both in different ways, and the stenciled background is beautiful too. Great ideas for stretching your dies and papers to create 2 wonderful cards!
Beautiful set of cards Loll, I too love those colours, something else to add to the wishlist now. Cathy x
Beautiful, stunning, and just a gorgeous array of colors, all showcased on the white -- perfection!
