Hi everyone. One more card for the CAS Watercolour April Challenge - Bird.
Another quick and fun card to make. I used two flamingo die-cuts that I received as a gift from a sweet friend! I die-cut them from mixed media paper and watercoloured with a mix of spun sugar and picked raspberry distress inks.
For the background, I used another piece of mixed media paper, adding water to the card front first with a wet paint brush, then dropping in distress inks (peacock feathers, broken china). Once the watercoloured puddle was finished, I used the same paint to splatter a few splashes of water, protecting the rest of my card front with some paper towels. Once dry, I added clear wink of stella over the puddle to give it some shine.
The sentiment is computer generated (cartoon inkstrokes font). The flamingos were popped up on top and I rounded the top right corner to finish.
Here's a close-up ...
The challenge is open for three more days. Come join us!

Those two flamingo's are adorable. Love how you did the puddle and such a beautiful and pretty card x
Beautiful flamingos and an awesome puddle for them to splash in, my friend! Love how the sentiment goes so perfectly!
Your flamingo's are gorgeous, Loll! I love that you chose a lovely soft pink for them and how you created the effect of water on your design! Such a great sentiment, too!
Totally cute & tropical. I like the 'cool' look you've created with the ink shades too. Perfect font to create the sentiment for these flamingos! TFS & Hugs
what fun images, those sweet flamingos look perfect against the watery background.
Beautiful pink flamingos, Loll! Your soft watercolouring makes the feathers look fluffy. The wink of stella coated shiny puddle is perfect for the flamingos to splash. Love the sentiment too. Hideko xx
What a great way you used these fantastic flamingos. Love the sentiment you came up with! That was brilliant. The slight spattering is perfect for not only your image but your sentiment too. Great composition!
Great flamingos - love them standing in their little pool. Great sentiment.
Oh wow..fabulous! The splash is so cool.. both of water and the sentiment.
What a gorgeous card Loll - love your interpretation of the theme, and your pond is fabulous

Your flamingoes standing in the water combined with this sentiment make a fun and fabulous birthday card!
So soft and dreamy! *wink I was just playing with flamingos this weekend! your card is beautiful!
Soft pastel tones are my favourite. This card is special Loll, and beautiful xx
Such pretty flamingoes Loll and love the little pool of bright blue water, and the sentiment is perfect. I'm afraid I have run out of time to enter again this time, have been away and have been so busy with other things. I was hoping I would sneek in under the wire again but isn't to be. I will hope to do better next month as I do love your challenges. I've missed the Christmas one too so doubly sad. x
Love the soft colours of this, so sweet Loll. Xxx
This is so cute, Loll. The sentiment goes perfectly with the wading flamingos.
So much fun, Loll ... I can almost see those long legs moving and splashing in that shimmery puddle ... fabulous! Hugs, Anita :)
Love the look of this one. Just got a flamingo stamp and die set and had no idea of how to colour it best...love this look!
Your flamingos have such an amazing color !! They are more beautiful than those found in nature. They are very sweet and they must be women :-)
