Hi everyone. It's the start of the CAS Christmas May challenge. This month is hosted by Susan and she chose ...
I don't know about you, but I can't stop smiling when I see the fun snowman images that are available. I just bought this snow family from Wild Rose Studio. First time buying from them and I'm really happy with my stamp. :)
This is a bit busy for a CAS card, but by keeping the embossing paste snowflakes white in the background, it isn't too busy. I added glitter embossing powder on top and heat embossed when the paste was dry. The snowflakes are very glittery in real life. :)
I stamped my family in archival black ink, fussy-cut and then coloured with my Zigs. I found it easier to fussy-cut first so that I didn't have to worry about touching the zig colours and it transferring. I'm learning something every time I make a card. :) I used a piece of patterned paper for the partial circle background. Patterned paper again?? ... it's becoming a habit! :) I love this blue sky with the falling snow. A white gel pen and blue marker were used to add pattern to the hats and scarves. I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed in white to finish.
Here's a close-up ...
While I had everything out, I made a second card with the same image, coloured with zigs, and the same background stencil with embossing paste and glitter embossing powder. :) This design is more CAS with a white-on-white design ...
Not happy with my placement of my stamped sentiment, but there it is and it's staying. :)

I love the clever ways you played with this stamp, Loll! Your snowflakes add so much dimension to your designs and I love how you added details to the snow-family accessories...really cute cards!
I'm so honored to be your GD for this month's challenge...Thank you again!
You and Barb are on the same NBUS stamp wavelength. This snowman group brings a smile to my face too! Both cards are adorable, but I think my favourite is the second one with the more CAS look. Love the sparkles. xx
Love that happy snow-family stamp! Great colours in both cards and it's so interesting to see how different they look with the coloured dp background on the first and the white embossed background on the second - I like both of them equally. Good tip about fussy cutting before colouring - I must try that.
Super cards, Loll, the image is SO cute. I love the embossing paste background. xx
*Love* your so cute cards! Great coloring job with the Zigs.
Just wondering how one finds the Partial Circle Die on Ali Express? I did a search, but the Partial Circle Die didn't come up. I'd really like to buy one of those myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi Eileen. I don't have your email address, so hope you check back about the die-cuts. I have added a link to the supplies list above, and it's here as well:

These are just adorable, Loll and love the shadows you added to these cute snowmen. Love the die you used too! I'm also amazed at how neat your embossing paste is- So crisp! These are super fun cards.
Loving this snow family, Loll! So beautifully colored and a great idea to fussy cut it first! I love them with the blue background and with the white on white! The stenciled snowflakes are AMAZING!
Loll, thanks *so* much for getting back to me so quickly. I really appreciate your kindness. The link is perfect!!! BTW, I'm so glad that I subscribe to/follow your blog. You do such beautiful work! Thanks so much for sharing.
Both your CAS snowman designs are so fun and creative, Loll. I love how you added the patterns to the snowmans scarves and hats and the pretty glittery snow backgrounds. TFS my friend. Hugs..
Both cards are so sweet Loll, your snowfamily are adorable. I love the embossing paste backgrounds it adds so much dimension and white on white is perfect.
This little snow family is just too cute!! Both cards look fab but I love the white on white version, the embossing paste adds great texture xx
Love the blue/greens on your first snow family with the lovely snowy blue sky background - the embossed snowflakes on both add wonderful texture to your cards!
These are wonderful and so smile inducing. Great job on the coloring. I liked the tip about fussy cutting first. Will try to remember that! Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs! :)
Fun and FABULOUS all 3.
Faith
To my eyes it's not busy at all, but then I see your second card and that's definitely simpler. I love them both! Your coloring of this cute snow family, the embossing and the design with the cross stitch partial circle -- all fantastic!
Yes snowmen and their families bring a smile to my face too. Your cards are such fun Loll. Yes keeping the snowflakes on the background white on your first card does work really well to keeping in CAS...see I am learning all the time too x Wonderful cards Loll, both of them and such an adorable image x
Awwwww...your snowman family is just adorable Loll! Both cards are colored beautifully and I love your backgrounds too! And I'm loving the patterned paper on the first card too...totally brightens up your already colorful card! I really, REALLY like your photograph background too...SOOO pretty!! :0)
I do not know which card I like more ...? Both are beautiful. I love textured background. Placing a family on an oval panel looks great!. Wonderful inspiration for challenge.
Such a happy bunch, on both cards. Zigs definitely give the perfect brightness to the whole two families. The embossing paste with glitter do give a nice frosty feel and beautifully compliment the scene.
Love them, xx
Fussy cutting's not my favorite thing, Loll, but the snow family really pops on that blue DSP.
That is such a sweet image, Loll ... who couldn't smile seeing this duo of snow family delights ... they're adorable! Hugs, Anita :)
What a sweet little snowman family. Both of the backgrounds look great. The blue sky shows the snow coming down and the white background add lots of texture.
These are just adorable, Loll! The snow family on both cards look so happy and they make me smile too. Your Zig coloring is so beautiful and I love you drew the cute patterns with a white jel pen and a blue marker. I never thouhgt of heat-embossing glitter powder on top of embossing paste. "I" learn something every time I see your card! Hideko xx
Both cards are so adorable Loll. I have that stamp and love it. Both cards are so beautifully done. Hugs, and thanks for all of your thoughts for the triplets. They are so precious. We are so blessed and they are doing so well.
