I was over on Vancouver Island for a little vacation back in March. I look along some heat embossed images and my Zigs so I could watercolour. This is one of the images I took. I've had this stamp for several years and think I've only tried to colour it once before. Back when I first got it, I didn't know anything about watercolouring ... and Zigs were in someone's imagination, but a long way from being in the market. Needless to say, it was disaster and I didn't even get one finished card from it.
I thought I'd revisit the image now that I have learned different ways to colour. I used Zigs to watercolour in bright green and blue. These ornaments remind me of the old fashioned glass ornaments that my mom used to have.
After watercolouring, I covered all the ornaments first with clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer, and then glossy accents for some shine. Unfortunately, the camera is not happy about all the shimmer and shine, so things look a little blurry. :)
Added a simple frame on top and heat embossed the sentiment in silver so it matches the ornaments.
Here's a close-up ...
Paper: Mixed Media paper (Strathmore 140 lb.)
Ink: Zigs
Accessories & Tools: Silver embossing powder, heat tool, water brush, Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

so pretty Loll - and good to have another Christmas challenge as MM is closing doors.
But a beautiful Christmas card, Loll! I love gloss on Christmas balls. They look so realistically. Your baubles have such a beautiful color and I love the frame that closes them inside. Perfection design

Such a contemporary and eye catching card. Love the vibrancy of the bright green and blue, with the gloss and the little bit of shimmer x. The sentiment looks perfect too. Yes thank goodness for Zigs and yes the baubles do bring back memories of my Mum's ornaments too x
Hi Loll,
Happy Rudolf Days.
Oh what a gorgeous card and those baubles really pop off the page.
Love the colours and the shine you have created.
Super idea the frame too.
Yes they sure do look like the glass ones.
I bought some miniture glass ones last year as I have a really small tree because of space sadly I dropped a couple and you know what happens to the glass ones.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT

It's a great card and I love the shimmer and shine you achieved.
Beautiful design and I love how you added the shimmer and shine with the Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.
Beautifully colored ornaments with your Zigs, Loll. I love how you added the WofS and Glossy accents for such beautiful shine. A wonderful CAS design, my friend. TFS Hugs...
Loll this is so striking and now that Merry Monday has closed down, I am looking for more Christmas challenges, thanks for sharing this one! I love your color combos!
You do have such an eye for color! This one just caught my eye with your gorgeous color combination and coloring too. This is so clean and crisp looking. Love that stamp too.
Such a pretty array of baubles Loll and love all the shimmer and shine and lovely bright colours which suit them perfectly. x
Beautifully colored ornaments, Loll! I always have trouble getting the glossy accents to cover evenly and not have bubbles. You'll have to give me some hints on that because your look like glass! Gorgeous, my friend!
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Loll! So glad you went back and revisited this stamp, as it is just perfect with the green and blue water coloring and the shimmer and shine of the WOS and GA! CAS perfection my friend...LOVE it!! :0)
Your ornaments look just like vintage glass ornaments Loll! They are so beautiful and make for a stunning card. I love them! I'm so glad the Zig's aren't in anyone's mind anymore and in our stash now. lol I love the green and blue color combo, one of my favorites. Hugs, Brenda
beautiful Loll, the glossy accents add so much dimensions and love th glue and green colour combo :)
Lovely shades of green and great use of the glossy accents - you definitely captured the look of old fashioned glass ornaments.
I love these bright green and blue ornaments with silver heat-embossed hangers, Loll! Your Zig coloring is so pretty. I’m sure the ornaments are much more shimmery and shinier IRL. (I can easily imagine that.)
Aren’t you proud of yourself by looking at this card, thinking how far you’ve come since the first time you colored this stamp image? I’m sure your mom is proud of you too! :-) Hideko xx
This is such a pretty card, Loll. You have great colouring skills so perhaps that it why it looks so good. I like the idea of the Glossy Accents clear shine over the Wink of Stella. IT looks wonderful.
Thanks for taking part in the June Rudolph Days Challenge.
Stunning Loll always love your enails in my inbox.. even if dont comment much!!! Thanks for being a blessing with your posts!!
Hugs Shaz in Oz.x
Great colours for these baubles
A lovely card Loll, the baubles are great with the glossy accent finish.
Superb!!! Xx
Wow Loll your ornaments look amazing - isn't it amazing the 'stuff' on the market nowadays that help us colour!!
Blessings

So glad you pulled this stamp out again, Loll, for this card is beautiful. I love the colors in the ornaments and how you glittered and glossied them. So thankful someone invented those items and so thankful you thought to color them and share them! Big hugs!
Such a striking card in your chosen colours, Loll! Love the added dimension and sparkle from the WOS and Glossy Accents. Beautifully done!
Beautiful, glossy ornaments. You could take those right off the card and hang them on the tree. Gorgeous colors that you chose and combined. It's wonderful that you keep trying new things and sharing them.
This looks so pretty Loll, those ornaments look amazing. The shimmer and the gloss really do make them look like glass xx
lovely vivid baubles, and so nicely framed, happy RD xxx
Love the "not quite traditional colored" ornaments in all their shine. Another blue ribbon card.
Absolutely charming, Loll ... the colours are delicious ... and the style is so deliciously retro ... love it! Hugs, Anita :)
So happy to see this in Rudy Day. and I remember those kinds of ornaments very well. Splendid job of making them so realistic with your fab coloring and G.A/.(Look at the Nuvo Crystal glaze...it's much easier to get out of the bottle than GA and so far, mine has not clogged). I'm especially liking the blue & lime colors & the embossing on the frame is a lovely extra detail too! TFS & Hugs.
I love this bauble stamp and especially the colours. The ornaments seem to pop out of your card, great idea to frame them too. xx
Such bright and cheerful ornaments, Lolly, all schparkly and dimensional! This is a card I would hang on my Christmas tree!! Happy Birthday, my dear friend!! Hugs, Dolly
What a fun card, Loll! Beautiful Zig colouring. Love the bright green colour! xx
Forgot to add.. hope you had a wonderful birthday dinner! xx
such a beautiful card, I love these colours!
The Glossy Accents adds great realism to the beautiful ornaments, Loll. I sometimes have trouble with the colors running when I use it.
I have this image or one very much like it. When I tried to use it, my efforts ended up in the wastepaper basket. After seeing your card, I'm ready to give it another try. Thank you.
