Alcohol Ink Twofer

Hi everyone.  Today I'm here with two colourful cards.  These smooshed alcohol ink backgrounds were made a while ago and have been in my stash.  They made quick cards by adding a beautiful flower background die-cut over top (I had to buy this gorgeous die-cut because of my friend Marcia ... she is really good at enabling me to buy more things!). :)

I glued down the white die-cut card fronts over top of the alcohol ink panels and then popped them up on foam over the card base.  I added a white heat embossed black sentiment banner for each card to finish.

Here's a close-up of the cards.  This first one was sent to my dear friend Mary for her birthday last month.

Stamps:  Everyday sentiments (AliExpress)
Paper:  Yupo; White (Neenah 110 lb. card stock); Black card stock (SU!)
Ink:  Alcohol inks:  Ranger and Pinata
Accessories & Tools:  Blending solution, Flower Burst Tria Background die (Gina Marie Designs), white embossing powder, heat tool

    I love these, the crisp white over the vibrant alcohol ink makes 2 stunning cards. I couldn't tell you which I like better as they are both perfect x

    YOu get results from alsohol ink like no one else does, Loll! Love the colors as well as the font of the sentiments. Why do I feel a need to go shopping? Love both of these beautiful cards.

    Wow, what striking cards! The alcohol ink colors are so rich looking and that dramatic die in white is the perfect complement. Love the twofer approach...been doing that lately with Christmas cards.

    WOW...and you were just saying something about missing mojo??! It's definitely been found again with these 2 beauties Loll!! Love the colors on both of your Al Ink backgrounds and they look FABULOUS with the white die cut flower openings! I guess enabling friends aren't such a bad thing after all, huh?!! :0)

    Simply stunning alcohol ink twofers, Loll! I love the fabulous color combination and the AI effect! This cover die really shows off the gorgeous AI backgrounds, and the black strip with the white heat-embossed sentiment pops against the vibrant colors. Great choices! Hideko xx

    Fabulous cards! Very inspiring! How on earth did you manage to get the alcohol ink colours to blend so smoothly? ;) Question: Did you use one or more layers of the Nenah cardstock when die cutting?

    Hi Kesu. I smooshed the alcohol inks to get them to blend smoothly. Used only one layer of white card stock for the top die-cut. Loll :)

    Wow, you're quick. Thanks so much. How did you smoosh them? I blow with a straw but can't get that smooth blending :(

    I squirt the Alcohol inks onto a piece of aluminum foil (foil protects your work surface). Add blending solution (or rubbing alcohol) to thin it out, place yupo (or glossy card stock) over top, press and twist. Pull up and see where there are bare spots and dip those areas in the leftover ink. If you ink starts to dry on the foil before you're finished, just add a little more blending solution to reactivate it. You can also use the foil with dried ink to create a background for your cards. Loll :)
