I used watercolour sprays for the die-cut maple leaf (red, brown, gold). I love how the gold adds some lovely shimmer. I sprayed onto my mat and then splashed away. Click HERE to see the video I've done on Splash Watercolouring Technique.
Die-cut my maple leaf and popped it up over a stenciled mesh background that I sponged in gold ink. I added a gold heat embossed black banner sentiment to finish.

ReplyDeleteIt's 90 plus degrees here and the air conditioner is running non stop, but your card makes me think of how beautiful Fall is with the cooler temps and all the GORGEOUS color just like your leaf! So glad you showed the close up as the gold and the shimmer are just amazing!! And the gold stenciling in the background offsets the leaf beautifully! Lovely, lovely card my friend! :0)

ReplyDeleteThe splash technique is perfect for autumn leaves because they have a splashed look IRL! Love the shimmery gold splashes in there too! It makes a very elegant leaf! The stenciled background adds extra interest and dimension!
