Penny Black - Cherry Blossoms

Hi everyone.  Today I'm playing with a new Penny Black die-cut called Cherry Blossoms.  Living in Vancouver, I am blessed to see lots of beautiful cherry trees in blossom in the spring.  We have many streets lined with these gorgeous trees.

I die-cut the blossoms from mixed media paper and then used my Zigs to add colour to the blossoms.  I used two shades of pink and a red for the very center.  I cut two sets of the branches so that I could layer the blossoms as many of the trees here are double blooms.  I cut the flowers off from the second branch, coloured with my zigs, and then shaped with a stylus and mat.  I glued them on top of the existing blooms, just off-setting the petals slightly.  The card is finished with a soft gray stamped sentiment.

    WOW! Loll, I love your card. It is so delicate, I love flowers, these whole and partial ones, forming buds. Amazing creation! Gray soft sentiment fits perfectly with this delicate card.

    A beautiful card Loll! Loving those cherry blossoms and that branch. You have color the blossoms up so well. They are so beautiful to look at in real life, I have a cherry tree out back in the hedge row that I get to enjoy every spring too. We used to ride up into the orchards to see them as well as the apple blossoms. So fun and so beautiful. You have captured it well with this card. Hugs, Brenda

    Your die cut and colored cherry blossoms are so soft and pretty, Loll. I must put this beautiful die on my wishlist. We also have many different varieties of flowering cherry blossom trees. I love how you added and shaped a 2nd layer on all your blossoms too. TFS Hugs...
