Patti has asked her blogging friends to send her some much needed smiles. My card is hopefully going to provide a smile for Patti today. :) She set up a Linky party on her blog for friends to play along.
I used the Penny Black ... so loved set. This dog is totally adorable, I was smiling the whole time I was colouring. Not only smiles for Patti, but for me too! :)
Stamped in black and then watercoloured using zigs. Simple, right! Not quite, a little glitch when I was adding the wash for the sky ... touched the heart and red everywhere. Not to fear, fussy-cut the dog (which I was happy with), stamped the image again and just coloured the background. Paper pieced the fussy-cut dog on top, popping up his ears. Added clear wink of stella and glossy accents to give the heart some umph! And then framed all with a simple white frame. I was even able to get the zig to work on my sentiment stamp. First time trying that.
Here's a close-up ...
Dear Patti ... sending smiles, hugs and lots of love your way!

Your happy adorable colored and fussy cut doggy would make anyone smile. I am sure Patty will appreciate your thoughtfulness, my fried. Wonderful save too:-) Hugs...
ReplyDeleteAww.. what a cutie.. he brings smiles to all of us too. I hope Patti settles soon and gets time to craft. The popped up ear looks so much fun.. what a great idea. Didn't even look that it was not the original plan.
ReplyDeleteLoll, this little puppy with the long floppy ears --well I couldn't help but smile when your newsletter arrived today. Am positive your card will put a smile on Patti's face. Hoping your friend will soon find a home--being ex military-- home hunting can be discouraging here in New Mexico. Hugs and smiles, Reva

Red is often my downfall! It seems to bleed more than any other color and there is no getting it to disappear! Your puppy is so fun and I know it will make Patti smile too!
ReplyDeletePatti is going to LOVE that happy little guy. What a great choice for sending her a smile. Was so disappointed for her when I heard the news. I am positive it means something even better is on the horizon for them! Thank you for sharing your happiness on a card here! :) Hugs!

Adorable dog (of course I love it as it's a spaniel!) and such a fun happy image with the butterflies and heart. Great save by fussy cutting the dog - and a good idea to pop up the ears!
