Dual Stencil Prints

Hi everyone.  Today I'm sharing a dual print that I did at the craft retreat I attended in May.  This is where you sprinkle powdered inks through a stencil and end up with two card fronts (the positive and the negative).  It's a great way to also use the ink that is left on the stencil from your first print. :)

I used Lindy's magicals for the powder this time and it worked great.  The first print (left above) is just the one single flower.  The second print (right above) is the reverse (stencil monoprint) with the background coloured with ink.  After it dried I lined up the flower stencil back over top and added a layer of white embossing paste which adds texture and dimension.  I finished the cards the same with a gray stamped sentiment and top right rounded corner.

Stamps: Gratitude (Penny Black)
Paper:  Mixed Media (Strathmore 140 lb.)
Ink:  Lindy's magicals --- can't remember the colours I used; Smoky Slate (SU!)
Accessories & Tools:  Water mister, Lovely Large Flower stencil (Wendy Veechi),  White embossing paste (Dreamweaver), palette knife

    The colours of the Lindy's look fabulous. Great mono printing and your both cards look amazing. Love how you got the two cards from the one technique and the white embossing paste adds wonderful dimension on the second card. Absolutely beautiful both of them x.

    Awesome! I want to try this monoprinting - and I really admired Cathy's organic butterfly she did on the guest spot. These flowers are stunning too. Lovely colors and you are just amazing with your creativity! TFS & Hugs.

    I don't know how I missed these but WOW, what a fabulous impression you achieved with powders! Love both cards. This does look like so much fun! I can't get over how crisp these turned out considering you used powders. They are just beautiful!

    So different cards, but when I looked more closely, I saw exactly how the two elements fit together. It's fascinating, like twin-sister twin sisters. Maybe not very elegant comparison, but probably adequate :-)
