Perfect for this time of year, except I didn't go with an autumn tree as I had originally planned. Instead I did a little experimenting with some green and brown Brushos. I spritzed my image with water, sprinkled with a little of the Brushos and then stamped onto the watercolour paper. I used paper towel right away to mop up excess ink. I'm happy with how this turned out, but am afraid it was beginner's luck. Not sure if I'll get as good an image next time but will definitely try. :)
I used my waterbrush to move the ink around on the trunk, but left the leaves alone. I added some grass at the bottom and stamped the sentiment. The image was a little low on my card front, so I rounded the top right corner to balance it better.
Here's a close-up ...

CAS Watercolour September Challenge - Tree
I LOVE this card Loll!! How cool an idea to sprinkle the Brusho's directly onto your stamp...I will definitely have to try that and see if I have as good of beginners luck as you did! There's one part in the center of your tree that almost looks like the sun is shining right on it and it is so pretty looking! Lovely, lovely card and a FUN challenge this month my friend!! :0)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous technique using the brusho's onto the stamp, so very unique and artsy. Wonderful card with stunning leaves...love it x
ReplyDeleteWow, a weeping willow, that's what I see. Such vibrant colours with this must try approach. Loving the loose watercoloring effect of this beautiful card xx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous card, Loll! I love the effect of Brushos on the leaves...I suspect they would look a little different every time, which is what I love about it :) Beautiful rich color palette and stunning CAS design...Looking forward to playing along again!
ReplyDeleteYour Brusho tree looks incredible, Loll! Not touching the leaves was perfect... looks more organic that way. Fantastic card! xx
ReplyDeleteWOW! That tree is gorgeous and I can almost see individual leaves. I know this would not happen here. You did a spectacular job on this, Loll! Love it.
ReplyDeleteWow, stunning Loll, the leaves are so artsy. Totally love the card.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your Brushos watercoloring for your tree, Loll. I would like to try your technique. Your different green tones and brown trunk and green grass are all so complimentary with each other. Wonderful sentiment and rounded corner too. TFS my friend. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you went with green! I'm not quite ready for autumn leaves yet! The shades of green are so lovely. I bet it wasn't beginner's luck - I have confidence that you could duplicate it!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love your experiment, Loll! The results are gorgeous! I'd love to try it myself. The various colors in the leaves and the splashy watercolor effect are so interesting! Hideko xx

ReplyDeleteOhhhh your technique sure worked wonderfully on your tree Loll - Love the depth of colors and wonderful watery look to your beautiful tree!
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous watercolor tree, my friend! I'm amazed at how well the Brushos worked for the leaves. My attempt with inking a stamp with Brushos was a pure mess! Maybe I need to keep paper towels handy and try again! Thanks so much for the wonderful inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a beautiful card Loll, that tree is amazing! I would have never guess it was brusho's you used. I love how it came out! I love the one rounded corner, such a pretty design element. I hope it comes out just a pretty next time for you. Hugs, Brenda

Oh what a cool result, Loll! Wouldn't have thought the powders could be used that way! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog & leaving such an encouraging comment! I've seen lots of blog headers & signatures credited to you, but must say my favorite so far may be Brenda's! My redo by Jackie was so long ago I feel the need for a change, but haven't gotten around to pursuing it.
ReplyDeleteYou did a brilliant job with the Brushos! Gorgeous card! I’m going to try this technique now:)
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a fabulous result you got with the Brusho's Loll. Spectacular tree and the green grass is perfect.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous tree and restricting the palette to just the three Brusho colours works really well...beautifully done Loll. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful willow, Loll ... you captured those draping leaf fronds so wonderfully with the brusho inking! Beginner's luck? Don't think so ... heaps of talent and experience more like! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a fabulous tree. That's SOME BEGINNER'S luck! Wish it would visit MY house. (It must be knowing when to blot that paper towel, huh?!) Good job with the brusho-s - the tree's umbrella is so full & lush. TFS & happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh Loll, I feel like you have picked this theme for me since I love trees so much (but I know I am not alone)! And yours looks phenomenal! I would have never thought to sprinkle Brusho powders directly on the stamp - what a spectacular result!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely have to play in your challenge and I already know which tree I'm going to use... Now I only have to find the time to play around with it...
This is the most beautiful tree I've seen on the cards! I love the light that I see in the crown of a tree. I am very impressed with this amazing card! Your technique is stunning.
