I used the same leaf die on both cards. LOVE IT!
For the first card, I pulled out some fabric I bought several years ago. I was at a quilting shop (which is weird because I do not sew!). :) I saw this package of 2" squares of pretty fabric with pinked edges. I bought them on a whim and today is the first time using them. I used one square as the background and a plain green fabric square to die-cut my leaf. I was happy that the fabric die-cut so well.
I just got a Gemini Jr., which is an electric cutting machine. I have an auto-immune disease that causes pain in my ligaments, and cranking the Big Shot was causing me too much pain. I will use the new Gemini for the majority of my die-cutting and embossing now. :)
I popped up the paisley fabric square on a piece of foam for dimension, and also added a foam die-cut leaf to the back of my fabric leaf for stability. Finished this easy card by stamping a sentiment in red.
Here's a close-up ...
For the leaf, I used a piece of copper smooshed with red, green and yellow alcohol inks. Once dry, I die-cut the same leaf. The copper cut well in my new die-cutter! :) I added a stitched rectangular frame over the bright green background and tucked in the copper leaf sprig. A sentiment was stamped in the lighter of the green inks to finish the card.

Two gorgeous designs Loll ..... love the autumnal colours. By the way .... so excited to be the first one to comment!!! Have a great week my friend xx
Love your cards with the fabric...I have a draw full of calico and gingham. What did you use to adhere the fabric? Thanks for always sharing.
Stunning cards Loll - and so glad you now have an electronic cutter - long may you continue to craft!!
Blessings
Maxine
These are beautiful, Loll. That card with the fabric is luscious. Such a wonderful pattern and texture. The second card is lovely, too. Congrats on the Gemini, Jr. So happy you have a tool that will help avoid pain and discomfort. I'm in awe that you create as often as you do, especially if you are in pain. You are one strong lady. :)
Both are gorgeous, Loll. Great cards, my friend.
How fabulous, Loll! The fabric adds a wonderful warm cosiness to your paisley leafy design, it's positively touchable ... and gorgeous! The contrast of the coppery leaf sprig against the fresh green is beautiful ... love how it's both inside and outside the stitched frame! Hugs, Anita :)
Your leaves just glow on that 2nd card! Great set of twofer cards
That fabric is so beautiful and I'm happy to know the Gemini, Jr. cut through both fabric and metal. I had to get one too for pain in my fingers and arms. It's hard for me to put the die in the opposite way. I wonder if I reversed the plates and cut with the die down if it would hurt the machine. The copper leaves are just stunning with the green background. Two fantastic twofers.
Two gorgeous cards, Loll! I love the look of that fabric! So warm and perfect for fall. The texture of your green background and the inked copper is a great combination! So glad to hear you got a Gemini to relieve a source of pain. It must be working well for you by to looks of your fabric and copper!
Wow, I love the fabric you used Loll, your cards are just stunning! I never really thought about using fabric on a card before, but here you have shown us not only is it possible but it is stunning as well. That fabric is just beautiful and makes a wonderful background for your leaves. I can't believe the detail in the fabric of those leaves! I would have never guessed you cut those leaves from fabric. Love it! I also love your twofer. It is such beautiful colors peeking out that window! I love the color of your leaves and that background. So happy you got a Gemini Jr cutting machine! I know how you feel as my RA gives me fits when I use my Big Shot and it isn't getting any easier. So someday I hope to have one as well. Glad you can take it easy on yourself when die cutting now! Hugs, Brenda
You went all out organic this month, Lolly! I think it's spectacular that you used fabric for your onefer and copper for your twofer! Both cards are superb!! So glad you found a machine to make die-cutting easier for you!! Hugs, Dolly
Two beautiful, BEAUTIFUL cards Loll! Totally loving the fabric background and leaf...looks FABULOUS!! And your copper leaves are SO pretty...lovely, lovely card! I have been using an electronic die cutting machine (Sizzix) for almost 2 years now and absolutely LOVE it...my regular Big Shot is just gathering dust!! Glad to hear the Gemini Jr. is helping you out!! :0)
Two Beautiful die cut CAS leaf designs, Loll using your fabric for a background and die cut leaves and on your 2nd card Gorgeous copper leaves with alcohol ink. You have me inspired my friend. Hugs...
Gorgeous cards, Loll! I love how you played with your fabric...the pinked border works perfectly with your design and I'm so impressed with how beautifully your new machine worked for you :) I also love how you used your copper piece with your alcohol inks...the variation in the colors is so striking and screams 'Autumn'! Love both cards and I can't wait to play along in the challenge!
Love these leaves, Loll! I've never tried die cutting fabric, but it's good to know that you can! I love the different texture that fabric brings to the card and the pretty greens! The copper leaves are gorgeous and look very Fallish! A beautiful contrast with the lime green! Sounds like your Gemini is working well for you. I need to know more....
You've used such interesting and a bit unusual materials on your cards! The fabric gives your first card such a cozy feel! The copper leaves on the bright green, textured background are a real eye catcher! Adore them both!
I am also interested in the Gemini Jr. Please keep us posted about your experiences with it!
I used tombow mono multi-glue to adhere my fabric to the foam. It works great. Loll :)
Two beauties with that leafy cluster, Loll - just love both versions! That fabric one looks amazing and the golden one so elegant!!
I love both of these but who would have thought that a wafer thin die would cut fabric. Now that was brilliant! Love this idea and love how that turned out. Wish I had kept some of my fabric stash now! Also thanks for the reminder to pull that copper out again! I always loved that look.
Two lovely cards, Loll. I love the coppery leaves, they are just so beautiful. Hope you have a great week.
What creative use of the fabric scraps, Loll! I'm always drawn to leaves--must have 100 stamps & dies--haha! Love the coppery leaves & that fun window die--may end up with it one of these days. I got a Gemini Jr--have only used it once since I need to purge & organize to make a place for it--ugh!
Super CAS cards, both of them. Loving how you are stamping the sentiments in the colours from the cards, they look great. Would never have thought that the thin dies would cut through the fabric so well. The leaf die is so pretty and in particular love the copper with the alcohol inks against the greens in the background, it looks fabulous x.
Sorry to her about your Auto Immune Disease Loll ...sending hugs x So glad the Gemini helps and keeps you crafting xxx
Wow ! Two beautiful CAS cards, Loll. And what a great idea to use all those bits of fabric that we all have somewhere in our stash! Your green background is just fabulous and your copper leaves look so beautiful on top of it. Superbe!
Two amazing twofers even more stunning IRL, Loll! The fabric paired with the leaves gives it an earthy organic look. Your bright green background is striking behind the copper leaves and really captured my attention. Inspiring as always. xx
What amazing cards you have here Loll. So totally different. You sure wowed us with that gorgeous piece of fabric. Beautiful.
You did great!!! Wonderful again :-)
Creatieve groetjes, Anja
So beautiful are your leafy designs. I love that you used fabric on the one card. And, using the copper and adding alcohol inks to it really made for gorgeous leaves.
Two fabulous cards, Loll! What a fresh idea to use fabric for your card! The paisley fabric square makes a beautiful and fall-ish background for your leaves. Love the baby wipe pounced background and the AI smooshed copper leaves of the second card. The background color is so eye-catching.
I'm so glad that your Gemini Jr helps to ease the pain and works out well for you. Hideko xx
What a great Twofer entrance! I love the first card for its softness thanks to the use of beautiful fabrics. It gives you so much coziness to the card. The second card impresses with the choice of colors! Two stunning cards, Loll!
xx
I'm pretty sure my mom had a dress made out of that same fabric, which she wore to church on Sundays. Your first card is really lovely, and it triggered some sweet memories for me. Love that you've added texture with the fabric, and dimension with the the foam. Those coppery leaves really trip my trigger. They look like they could have fallen off trees in my backyard. Absolutely gorgeous. Have a great Sunday. Bev
Hi Loll,
what a very super idea the fabric square is I really love that idea, and it looks amazing.
Your second card is also very beautiful and those leaves are quite stunning in the colours used.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
I love everything about these cards, but mostly I love that you have used fabric from your stash, it works brilliantly xx
You are always incredibly talented in your approaches. These cards are distinct and GORGEOUS. The paisley si so rich and the single coloured leaf branch is the perfect contrast. Your copper leaves are no exception, I would love to try this. Two unique wonderful cards, bravo!!
2 beauties Loll, the fabric Bg is eye catching, the intricate pattern is lovely, and the leaves on the second one steal the show!
Fabric adds a new dimension to cards. I always want those squares too, in fact all the fabric. That copper leaf is superb. Gorgeous cards, as ever.
Great idea to use that fabric, Loll. I have enough to make hundreds of these. ;) I'm intrigued by the copper too. It really pops against the green.
