Magnolia Rhapsody

Hi everyone.  One last card for the CAS Watercolour October Challenge - Orange, Green, and Brown, before it closes in a few days.

We are also celebrating our 2nd birthday this month! :)

I watercoloured a beautiful image from Penny Black called Magnolia Rhapsody.  I was happy with how it turned out until I stamped my sentiment.  It just didn't look right ... too long and narrow, or not in the right place, or something.  So I cut it down A LOT and ended up with two small pieces that I could use.  I used the smallest of the two today for my card.

I love these colours together (Distress Inks: Ripe Persimmon, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Tea Dye).  This is the first time using Tea Dye ... LOVE the medium reddy brown colour. :)  I have a few colours of distress inks that I haven't use ... always pull out my "favourites".  But how do I know if they are my favourites if I haven't given the others's a try?? :)  I need to play with the other colours ... tea dye was a success!

Here's a close-up ...
Come join the birthday celebration.

Stamps:  magnolia rhapsody (penny black); gratitude (penny black)
Paper:  Watercolour (Arches 140 lb. hot press)
Ink:  Distress Markers:  Ripe Persimmon, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Tea Dye (Tim Holtz)
Accessories & Tools:  Water mister, rectangle stitched frame (AliExpress)

Love how you used part of the image and what a happy accident. Accident or not I never think to use just part of an image and I really must as it looks stunning. Such a beautiful card and love the watercolour effect. Yes I have favourites too but we really shouldn't :) x
