Here's a close-up ...
For the second card, I used a product for the background that isn't new, but new-to-me. It's called Liquid Metallics. I used purple and red, smooshing the purple first and then red on top. I love how the colours did stay separate, but also blended beautifully into this dreamy looking background. I stamped the same wheat image in Versamark and heat embossed in silver, along with the sentiment "Hello" which didn't want to photograph very clear. I cut the panel down to about 2 1/4" by 3 1/2" so there's lots of white space in the background to balance the strong colours and popped it up on foam for more dimension.

Twofer Card Challenge #10 - Harvest
Wow! The two cards you created for this twofer are equally beautiful, Loll! I adore the traditional take on the harvest theme with the colors and texture on the first card. That paper towel sure adds wonderful interest. And the colors and blending on the second are so striking. Excellent work! Thanks so much for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm generally drawn to color, and your purple/red background is gorgeous, Loll, there's just something about the soft earthiness of the first card that I love.
ReplyDeletelove your background on the neutral colous, I don't seem to be able to keep my paper towel sheets separate so have lots of muddy messes. Your pink versions is so bright and cheery :)

Also love the sentiment stamped in the same colour as one of the wheat images. Such a vibrant and pretty second card. Those liquid Metallics look wonderful and are new to me too x Thank you for the fabulous inspiration x

ReplyDeleteThese are both gorgeous, Loll ... the first is dreamy and has such a great sense of movement among all the texture ... and what a gorgeous rich panel of colour backing the elegant silver embossing! A beautiful twofer! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful cards Loll - love that background where you transferred the pattern from the paper towel, and the subtle background stamping, the the boldly repeated image. The metallics have also made a wonderful background.

I'm really impressed with the effects of mixing the metallic inks, and I will definitely try that with mine...I also love that you chose silver EP on this card...it's just perfect!
ReplyDeleteTwo terrific twofers once again, Loll. The wispy effect of the wheat on your first card gives wonderful movement. The paper towel background complements it perfectly. I’m unfamiliar with liquid metallic, but it looks so cool. The vibrant colours are a standout. xx
