Penny Black with Gilding Flakes

Hi everyone.  Today I'm sharing two cards using gilding flakes on Penny Black's Berry Bramble and First Waltz images.

I have some heat and stick powder from SU! for years and never used it.  I saw a video about using it with gilding flakes and wanted to give it a try.  Got together with my friends Susan, Christine and Trina and we all played with the heat and stick powder.  It worked great!!  It's one of the best products for gilding flakes that I've used.  The card above is the Berry Bramble image, which is a very versatile image that may be used for many occasions.  I think this is very elegant and beautiful.  The gilding flakes do all the work! :)  They look best on black, although you can use other colours.

Here's a close-up ...
I finished the card by adding a birthday sentiment heat embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder.  I love the sparkle of this powder, but it doesn't photograph well.

I did a second card using the First Waltz image.  Again, I'm so happy how this turned out ...
This time I used gilding flakes called Red Speckle and it's mostly silver.  I used silver tinsel embossing powder for the sentiment.  Next time I will stick with plain gold and silver embossing for my cards. :)

two gorgeous cards, Loll - especially love the second one. have some gilding flakes that Bonnie sent me ages ago and have been afraid to try them but you've inspired me to get them out and have a go!

stunning Loll, the gilding flake really pop against the black. I'm so glad we pulled out the Heat and Stick it's so much easier than glue, it only leaves gilding flake clean up instead of stamp and gilding flakes :)

Two stunning cards using the gilding flakes! I really liked that technique we did with the Heat n Stick and must remember to use it more often. Love both the gold and the silver against the black cs!

Great effects Loll .. Ive used gilding flakes .. made a disposable cardboard stencil with a die and added gilding flakes on it once tapped through tacky glue with a disposable made sponge. Worked a treat.
Wonder how the shaved ice would go on it too?
Are other sticky EP (eg Ranger Judikins) as effective as disc SU item I wonder?
Mine went white not green when heated too. Found that puzzling.
Great use of flakes. So love them.

Both cards are simply stunning, Loll! They look like gilded art on black lacquer! I can see the sparkle of the tinsel embossing powder in my head. The EP texture matches the gilding flakes.
I have SU heat and stick powder (I never used) and now I know the wonderful use of it, so I need to get gilding flakes! :-)
Thanks for sharing these beautiful creations!

WOW Loll, both your cards look amazing - the gilding flakes are brilliant on the black card and I'm sure the sparkly embossing will look great with it.

These are so beautiful, Loll. I just love how the flakes pop against the black. I don't have the SU brand, but I do wonder if the Ranger brand will work the same? I might have to pull it out and give it a go. Thank you for always inspiring with the different products you use and sharing all the stunning results. :)

These are both so elegant and just BEAUTIFUL Loll! I've played with gilding flakes only once in a class, but never bought the supplies to do any on my own...may need to reconsider that after seeing both of these beauties! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! :0)

These are both beautiful and elegant. Something else for me to try! I used gilding flakes once and had them everywhere. The little stinkers do fly through the air, don't they. I'll try the heat and stick powder. I love that Berry Bramble stamp you used.

Oooooh ..... how gorgeous do these look in the gilding flakes. Love them both! You've reminded me I haven't used gilding flakes in ages ...... I need to find time to play now xx

Wow such an eye catching and stunning effect and especially on the dark card stock. I use the flakes mostly with the special glue but it is messy so I will be giving this technique a go. Gorgeous stamps, wonderful glitzy flakes and very classy and elegant cards X

The gilding flakes are beautiful on both of these cards Loll, and I think the black shows them off so well. I think for me the black and gold is the one that appeals to me more as I love the mix of colours within the gold, but on both the heat and stick powder has held the gilding flakes so well. Glad you and friends Susan, Christine and Trina had a fun time using them. x
