I had every intention of entering the blog hop that was so generously set up by the wonderful Darnell. I went to enter a couple of days ago and saw that it has closed. My heart sank!
Sorry I'm late to the party Di ... nothing new for me, I'm afraid. And I'm sorry to say that I haven't been for a visit to the Playground for quite a while. Sometimes life gets in the way of playing with friends. :)
This is a special card just for Di! She loves pink ... she makes people smile.
I hope you like the card I made in your honour Di! Happy, happy anniversary! May there be many, many more!
For the snippets:
Used a snippet of watercoloured paper from my stash. This was done with smooshing liquid concentrate watercolour onto watercolour paper. Always great to have these types of snippets on hand. Also used a snippet for the white die-cut leaf.

We've had one of the mildest winters here on the westcoast of Canada. But, about a week ago, an artic outflow headed our way. Freezing temperatures and lots of snow. We have accumulated about 12" so far. Weatherman says it's going to warm up and rain, but the sky still looks like "snow sky" to me. :) Here's a few pics ...
Backyard --- just below the railings you can see my greenhouse roof that shows the accumulation.
Front yard
Stamps: Happy Snippets (Penny Black)
Paper: Watercolour (Arches 140 lb. hot press for smooshed background); White (Neenah 110 lb. card stock)

ReplyDeleteVery sweet card, Loll, lovely background and leaves. It looks like a Christmas card out there!
ReplyDeleteOh Loll - what a lovely surprise and such a gorgeous card as well! Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs
Di xx
A fabulous card - perfect for Di. The snow looks lovely - in a photo - but I'm glad we don't get it like that at home!

Beautiful card, Loll. And love your pictures of the snow. Looks like Seattle. That's what we get for having such a mild winter for the first half. HaHa.
ReplyDeleteOh, just beautiful. I love white space... though indoors for cards, not so much outdoors. Was the stitched window die one die that made that terrific pattern, or two that you placed one inside the other? I really like how they cross and continue in the corners.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Loll, and a lovely tribute to the wonderful Di! xx
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks so pretty, but I think I’m ready for spring. 😉
Gorgeous snippet card for the wonderful Di. I love how you used your gorgeous watercolored background and die cut leaf snippets to design the perfect CAS card for Di. TFS your snow pictures too. We are only getting rain now, which I prefer, but you sure got some beautiful photos to remind you of your big snow. Perfect weather to stay in and stamp, stamp, stamp. Warm Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect card for Di, Loll! Love that gorgeous background. I have some liquid watercolor and this makes me want to find time to play with it. You have a real winter wonderland there! It's beautiful to look at while you stay warm and safe inside.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely CAS card Loll. Thanks for sharing your 'snow photos'. It's the complete opposite here with very hot dry conditions. Temp yesterday got to 40c. Our AC has certainly been working overtime for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteLove that snippet of background from your stash! Perfect for the leaf and the stitched aperture!
ReplyDeleteClever card for our wonderful Di Loll. Keep warm
ReplyDeleteShaz. Xx
Beautiful snippets card for the sweet and generous Di and beautiful photos of your gorgeous unusual snowfall, Lolly! Nothing is prettier than mounds of fresh unmarked snow! I do miss that! I feel badly that you came to play in the Hop and the doors were closed. I will add your card to the Hop linkup anyway. I think it is nice for Di to have the creations all her friends made in one place for her to visit now and then! Hugs, Dolly
ReplyDeleteperfect snippet for Di and love that CAS layout.
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks so picturesque :)
What a beautiful card for Di .... it's always great to use up those snippets.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous snowy pictures too ..... looks beautiful as long as you don't have to go out in it. Stay warm my friend xx
The photos look beautiful... a true winter wonderland. But I bet not fun coping with the weather that created it! Sweet card -- you sure know how to put snippets to good use.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. The colors are just so very pretty! I really like how you framed the leaves with the MFT die. Wonderful work. Sorry you missed the challenge, but I know she will appreciate your heartfelt wishes. The pictures of the snow are also beautiful in their own way. I hope you don't get too cold and the melting happens soon!
ReplyDeleteAlways love your cards, Love love love this one. Great piccies of the snow, it's a beautiful Spring day here in Wales, warm sun and clear sunny skies, such a lovely change for us.

Your card for Di is so personalized and I think she will love it. Whew, you did get the snow your way. I think of those days as crafty days and just stay inside. We've had our share of snow this year, lots of cold wind, then it warms up to 50 or 60 degrees. Stay warm, and Happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteThe most perfect CAS beautiful card for Di....
ReplyDeleteWow to all that snow...The worlds been crazy this year with the weather.
Happy Valentines Day to you Loll x

ReplyDeleteThis card makes me smile too Loll...I love pink and orange together!! And your photos look just like Michigan...it has been one wild ride here for the past month and just never seems to let up!! I'm ready for Spring!! :0)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Loll! I love the pink and orange together and I know Di will love it too. You are just keeping the party going at the playground my friend. We are all for that! lol A great tribute to the lovely Di for sure. I love your snowy photo's, looks like here! lol In my mind I always think other countries are so different from us when in reality most are not. I hope your warm mild winter comes back and spring comes forth soon! Our snow should do some good melting today since we are supposed to get up in the 50's today, but of course back down to the 30's after today. Spring is right around the corner or so I keep telling myself. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteGreat job grabbing snippets from your stash to create this gorgeous card, Loll! I love the texture on the leaves and how they pop against your gorgeous watercolored panel! I see that Di is absolutely thrilled with her card, too!!!
ReplyDeleteFresh and crisp, Loll ... that sweet sprig is gorgeous against the rich warm reds and pinks! Amazing snow ... just the sort of weather for staying indoors and crafting! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card, it's hard to believe it was made of scraps. This is another argument for not throwing anything away, hehehe. I have a huuuuge problem with this :-)
