Nancy (scandinancy creates) is our host this month and she has picked a really fun challenge for February's CAS Stencil Challenge!
I made a video a few years back on Stenciling with Brushos. Click HERE to see the video on YouTube.
And ...
I have done another video using different types of powdered inks. It has just gone live and I hope you'll have some time to watch it. I will add the video below or you can click HERE to watch it on YouTube.
If you find the tutorial helpful, please give me a thumbs up on YouTube!
Thank you!
I have made the card above from the samples made in my video. The above card uses the first stenciling of wildflowers (the positive image). I have only used a small part for my card, framing it up in green. I really like how it turned out.
... and here's the negative (or stencil monoprint) with gold glitter paste added through the same stencil using a sponge ...
Here's another card from the video. This is the positive ...
and this is the negative ...
... and one more card of a partial flower stenciled with magicals. Some of the powder ended up on the side which I was hoping to keep white, so I fussy-cut out the stenciled part and added it to a white card base.
... and negative ...
I hope you'll join us for this fun challenge. Pull out your stencils and powdered inks (any kind - brushos, bisters, Lindy's magicals, infusions, etc.) and play along. Remember to keep you design CAS (clean and simple!).

You have been busy using powdered inks with your stencils Loll! Love them all - with the positive and negative prints - how fun we can get two cards (or more) out of one stencil session! The purples on your first card really pop framed in the green card stock! And the gold stenciling over the negative print is so pretty! I'm off to watch your newest video on the topic! Julia xx
Thank you for creating and sharing your awesome old and new powdered ink videos, Loll:-) They are so helpful and perfect timing for our new CAS Stencil Card Challenge: Stenciling with Powdered Inks!!
I LOVE ALL your Gorgeous finished CAS cards using your positive and negative images. Each is unique and beautifully created, my friend. I am so inspired to create more cards for the challenge and look forward to seeing the gallery growing.
Love and Hugs...Nancy
You are too good to be true Loll Thompson!!!
These are FABULOUS!
I have never used Brushos etc on stencils but now am going to have to try! x
one of my favorite techniques Loll and you've used some of my favorite stencils. Gorgeous cards and I'm sure I'll be playing along :)
WOW! You've been busy with the powdered inks. Amazing results on all of your cards. I love the first one using the green base card, such a pretty colour combination. Great video too by the way .... this is such a fun technique xx
Love this challenge! Will be playing along for sure. Loll, all of your examples are fabulous - I'm happy to see those older ones again. The new one with the vibrant pink flowers and the green card base is so striking - what a great colour combination!
You spoiled us with this incredible collection of dual print cards, Loll! Fabulous videos (new and previous). Love all your finished cards. I struggle with powdered inks, so this will be a challenge. Hope I can get one linked up. xx
You certainly have been productive! All the cards are fantastic and I appreciate the video, so well done. I still have not tried this but it's on my to-do list this year. Love how you use the positive and negative of the stencil for two completely different cards. These also look so fun to do.
Absolutely stunning cards, Lolly! You are the consummate teacher and so valued in Blogland for all the technique videos you generously make for us to learn from and your sample creations are all magnificent! Thank you!! Hugs, Dolly
Wonderful cards Loll, and I so enjoyed your video - hopefully the inspiration translates into action!

These are gorgeous, Loll! Thanks for creating and sharing the video. I look forward to watching it when I have a minute. But for now, I'm ooohhing and ahhhhing over your beautiful examples!! :)
I have to echo Darnell about your teaching videos. I have learned to much and you have stretched my abilities so much. Seeing things done helps me learn much better and you are a wonderful teacher. Thanks for all you do. These cards are amazing and using the negative is a fun way to use up the inks. Soon as the laundry is done, I'll be trying this.
Beautiful cards and another fantastic video tutorial, Loll! You make it look so easy!
Gorgeous cards, Loll! I'm so impressed with how you used your powdered inks and stencils...the results are amazing! Thank you again for your video tutorials, and for inspiring us with your positive and negative creations!
Amazing inspiration and what unique and artsy cards. The positives and negatives look equally stunning. What a crisp effect you got with the wonderful masculine card. Great techniques and wonderful save with fussy cutting out the flower stencil x.
A gorgeous set of cards, Loll. Thank you for all the inspiration!
Your cards are ALL FABULOUS Loll and I totally LOVED the new video too! Can't wait to give this technique a try!! Your 1st card is my favorite (I think it's because I really like the green card base surrounding just that little bit of the stenciled flowers!), but they are all absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! :0)
Thank you so much for creating and sharing your wonderful and informative tutorial video, Loll!
Your demonstration and instructions are so clear and easy to understand and you provided us a lot of great tips.
All of your sample cards are gorgeous! The colors of positive prints are vibrant and those of negatives/monoprints are ethereal and pretty.
I especially love the clockworks cards - the earthy and bold positive print and the cool design of the negative.
Thank you for sharing us all these inspiring cards for this month's challenge! I'll join the fun soon.
Hideko xx

Wow, that's a lot of beautiful card samples, Loll! I especially love the colors on your first card. Those two shades in particular are a favorite combo. And wildflowers, sigh... so beautiful.

Three fabulous sets of cards using the positive and the negative stencil images in such imaginative ways Loll and I love them all. x
What a brilliant collection of cards, Loll ... soft, delicate florals and cool, stylish, masculine designs! As ever, a couple of great videos, thank you! Hugs, Anita :)
You have just the right touch to make both the positive and negative stencil prints look fabulous, Loll. I think I need to keep practicing.
The clocks - the positive... Be still my heart! Those colors are phenomenal.
You're leading the team with these fabulous cards Loll, they're all so different, great colours and patterns and also the negatives so we're not wasting out resourses... and then you provide excellent video tutorials..thank you so much... I love your first one best. My mojo is a bit lacking with cleaning up on my mind.. but I'm getting there.
Super positive and negative creations Loll. All stunning in their own way. I especially loved how you used coloured paper on the first one. It really drew your eye into that floral image.
